Theodore Roethke - The Waking

With all the changes and uncertainties in the world the old idea of the pathless path has great relevance. On the pathless path we have to learn by going. Our shaking has to be the thing that keeps us awake. In the Renaissance, another time of great radical change and deep uncertainty, people knew there were urgent things to do, but they used to say, ''festina lente'", make haste slowly. Maybe slowly we take our waking to a different world and take it slow so we can find by waking and feeling our way along where we each have to go.
