Especially when they do it after a loss and not just taking the L. I don't know if you remember the white freshman college tennis kid that beat the other Senior HBCU kid. So the black kid said he lost because the white kid said, "At least I have a Dad." Kid kicked off college team. Outrage. Still turns out the Black kid was talking trash as he was being routed and nearly shutout. Granted the white kid was an upcoming phenom. Supposedly towards the end the white kid talked trash back. It was said that the Black kid said, "Must be nice living off Daddy's Trust Fund" when the kid responded with the Dad comment. Big shocker is the White kid during his summers the past few years prior would go and teach inner city Blacks how to play tennis. No matter. White World bad. No life if you win. You RayCis. Was in the Air Force working in a male dominated area (Flight Line). We had a female co-worker of color. She decided for herself when she did and did not want to work. Our supervisor told us it isn't right but doing something about it would be harder than "'just letting her be". She was female and black so she could say we were racist/misogynists for any perceived slight. This was an isolated incident but it shows the problem when everything is about your race and gender.
@tc6992 жыл бұрын
There are people who will use improper excuses for their own shortcomings. Sometimes they use race. One sad incident I remember was back when I was in high school in the early 1990s. I was in the jazz choir at my school. It was very selective and difficult to get into. Anyway, we had tryouts and one of my friends who happened to be African-American didn't make the choir. She came storming into the choir room the day after selections ranting about how she didn't get in because the choir teacher was racist. She made a fool of herself. The problem with her argument is that out of 5 Black girls that tried out for the choir, only one didn't get selected. The other four Black girls sang better, as did the few others who were White and Asian. The sad thing is that she wouldn't acknowledge the facts. She wouldn't let the racism charge go. Her problem was that she saw racism around the corner of almost every failure. That was the sad part.

I am a BYU Alumni and was an athlete on BYU's soccer team from 2011-2013. I can tell you right now that if someone was yelling racial slurs from the stands at an Athlete from a visiting University that the other students standing by would have gotten that person kicked out. The students, staff and coaches would not stand for that for even a minute. The whole purpose of BYU as a private Christian University is to teach that we are ALL the children of God. There are stupid people everywhere, even at BYU but if this actually happened, others would have heard it and said something. There is no way this is true. 0% chance.

I love it when people say, "why would she lie?" It's the easiest argument to counter... because people lie for attention all the time. Also, if she is an activist, it keeps the conversation going. Imagine being in a volleyball game and being the only person that hears someone yell that? That would mean you are so hyperfocused on the subject of racism, that it controls your life and is more important than anything else. Why would the police review the video? Administratively the schools can do something about it, but you can't criminally charge someone... it's protected speech. I think it's absolutely a disgusting thing to say, but our first amendment gives people the right to say it.

Her coaches were notified & BYU coaches/admin were notified and then placed a police officer and ushers in the stands with the students while the game continued. Her account says the student body started to get more hostile in the 4th set (while the police were positioned in the student section). The BYU Police report stated that the officer did not hear any racial slurs and students only were shouting a players name. The person who was "banned" was not a BYU student, but from another university nearby, and approached the Duke team after the game, this is who they said was making the slurs - they said they recognized the voice - the police looked at the footage, and the person was not in the student section, video showed he was on his phone not paying attention one of the times she served and was not even present the first time she served. I'm a BYU alum/my daughter attends there and BYU is one of those places that even a single swear word is going to draw attention let alone a racial slur. You didn't even bring up that her Godmother who is on Twitter - has a history of being openly racist towards whites - and has since blocked public access and is running for public office. Not to mention, a week before the match at BYU - Duke said the team had racial training called "A Long Talk" that was created in the aftermath of George Floyd - and is training for organizations and teams to become "educated" on create a movement of anti-racists. All of this is a bit too convenient, IMO.

Moreover, she was serving and claimed to hear this- where was your mind? Not focused on the game. What I fear is this was choreographed for whatever reason way beyond my comprehension. I've tried to drop my IQ low enough to fabricate a reason for this nonsense. This appears to be a classic college "I was raped" moves and in a few days we will find out through a proper investigation- not a witch hunt that cost a "white person" to be castigated for life based on the single word of person on a volleyball court in the middle of a packed stadium while concentrating on serving the ball and miraculously she heard this "yet to be divulged for everyone to judge whatever was Saud as actually being deemed a racial slur!" She is not a credible witness and I hope she suffers the same fate as the "white guy" suffers when she is found out to be a fraud...

When have you ever heard a group of Hispanics calling each other 'beaners' or 'wetbacks', or Asians calling each other 'chink' or 'slant', or Jews calling each other 'kike'? @@MrClobbertime It is a basic double standard. But there are a lot of black people that despise that word no matter who uses it but because it is used so much in hip hop music which is so popular it can seem that "all" black people live by this double standard. Officer I have to thank you man. The fact is, white people are not allowed to defend themselves these days. If we do we're called racist. We don't have a voice. You help balance the scales just a little. I don't know what happened that led you to the views you have (would certainly make an interesting video) but I am eternally grateful for it. You give me hope that other people of color might one day see a little bit of reason. I've never hated somebody for their skin. And each individual I meet I treat on a clean blank slate even if I know their beliefs don't line up with mine. I always give everyone a chance. But many times they don't give me a chance because I'm white and if I say anything I'm racist. You're literally taking a bullet for us. For real. I imagine you have to deal with a lot of people of color calling you a traitor and stuff. I can only Express gratitude for your willingness to publicly take that damage for the greater good. I want you to know I appreciate you and many of us do as well. This can't have been an easy decision for you to make. It can't have been easy to put a Target on your back. I'm grateful to you for this. I hope one day we can all be truly equal and not this sham the media has us believing these days. Every now and then I meet a truly enticing person of color who reminds me that there are still good people of all types. I also meet plenty that hate me for being white. But you remind me that I will meet even more people of color one day that are willing to just be my friend and not worry about my lack of melanin.

Wow! I could not have said it better! This comment sums it up. I am so encouraged and heartened by the number of great channels from conservative black men and women that elevate the fact that we can all be on the "same team" (humanity!) and uplift and inspire each other to more than what this negative agenda tries to broad-brush paint as systemic racism in our country. They are literally stoking it, fanning the flames, constantly talking about a "bogie man" that doesn't exist except in the minds of a very few people. I see just the opposite and I live (in a large city the south) in a very culturally diverse neighborhood where, without actually counting, I would say whites are in the minority. In the grocery and other stores where I shop, I see far fewer white people than black, Hispanic, Middle Eastern, Asian so it's not like I don't encounter different races and cultures, but other than the few people who have a obvious chip on their shoulder and project a surly negative attitude, I find people to be friendly, kind, and helpful (I'm an "older person" and people often ask if they can help me load my groceries or other niceties.) In fact the lion's share of racism nowdays seems to be projected from the people that have an ax to grind but that is mostly seen on TV from people like Joyless Reid and her so called "White Allies". I don't see it in real life on a personal level. When I do see that surly look I try to smile, say something positive and project acceptance or appreciation (say, if it's a person bagging my groceries who doesn't speak, I call them by name and thank them). I thank people behind the cash register for simply working, cause many people quit and never returned and they are very short staffed, so a cashier may have to do that and bag! There are just so many opportunities to connect with people in small ways, it helps to break down stereotypes and it's very uplifting to do so!

When she talked about "putting in the effort and the funds to educate the student body", it became obvious why she did this. Has she lived as a BYU student? What does she know about the BYU student body beyond her own pre-conceived biases? Does she even realize that a large number of BYU students are from various nations and cultures or that a large number of BYU students speak multiple languages and lived among other cultures and nations for 2 years? She came in with a chip on her shoulder due to her own prejudice and bias and found a way to preach her divisive message.

When i first heard this story I was pretty shocked, as I'm not Mormon, but I know a lot of LDS people, and they are the least likely to ever say anything like that. (At least publicly, not saying there are no racists lds, there are always one in every crowd, but mormons I know really do pride themselves on being "good" and decent people) If someone did say it, they would have been immediately called out by the rest of the students. There is simply no way someone shouts the N word out at a BYU event, repeatedly, and no one says anything, it just doesn't compute if you have had any interactions with mormons. But I gave her the benefit of the doubt, something that is getting harder and harder with all the made up racism going on. Now I'm starting to think this is another case of "look at me" attention seeking behavior.
