@Carnibee Жыл бұрын
@@Music_Iz_life ehhhh toxic is a bit much. Jim was in love with someone who was taken, then he tried to move on multiple times. If you’ve ever loved someone who doesn’t love you back, you can do a lot to try to get rid of that feeling, especially when they’re a close friend. It hurts, a lot, all the time. Then, after years of pain, he tries to let go of Pam completely and he just… can’t. Not when Pam is finally available. It’s not right at all what he did to Karen, she was an unfortunate victim of his “get over Pam” efforts. But he may have actually liked her as well - they had legitimate chemistry. They were together for what appears to be at less months, if not longer (the entire season 3). Is he awful for using her like that, even if it was partially accidentally? Absolutely, he knew he never stopped loving Pam and he definitely pursued Karen as a shield for going back to Scranton. But I do think he didn’t have any feelings for her? No, he had feelings the first time she played a prank on him.

Hindsight is 20/20. Honestly, I feel that when Jim said he still had feelings for Pam, Karen should have broke up with him. Not out of spite, but because it was for the best (for all of them). I think she was in that "sunk cost fallacy" where she moved and did all that just to be with him, so she felt she had to fight for him. And Jim, being the guy he is, felt bad and tried to make it work hoping he'd stop loving Pam.
@Yahmaha312 ай бұрын
I agree. I don't think anyone's a bad person out of the three, but I think Karen felt she was too involved to back out, and it turned their relationship into something more forced than what it could've been. In the end, it was better for Jim to wholeheartedly be with Pam, than to halfheartedly be with Karen. That was Karen would also not feel like she's forcing a relationship and keep having doubts about how faithful Jim is.

i just never understood why any of these characters got hate for this story. each of them made choices that were totally understandable and they chose their consequences. jim didn’t use karen to make pam jealous or anything he just tried to move on from pam after her emphasis on friendship in the parking lot talk, when he realized wasn’t getting over her he told karen about his feelings for pam but she chose to stay with him. then the beach talk happened which made karen realize "getting over pam" couldn’t happen in scranton but also made jim realize he was too in love with pam to give up on her. lastly he went back to pam asking for another shot and finally their timing coincided and she said yes. i think jim liked karen but was a bit late to understand it was nowhere near how much he loved pam. in the end karen could’ve been more realistic and not ask for jim to leave pam who he obviously had a deep mutual connection with, jim could’ve been more honest with himself and pam could’ve been more brave to tell him how she felt before his relationship got deeper. in my opinion all their choices while bad, was understandable given their feelings at the time. karen was too hopeful and in love, jim was too heartbroken to ask pam out for the third time and too hopeful that he’d be able to forget her and pam simply couldn’t risk breaking their friendship again and possibly preventing him from being happy with karen.

Being a good person (Karen) doesn’t make a relationship work, it certainly isn’t enough to make a marriage work. Pam and Jim had amazing chemistry, and they were deep friends who could bond over every moment. They both are responsible enough. Karen wanted to change Jim into a different man. Change his hair, etc… that’s not marriage material. Years of that will lead to resentment. Jim made the right move, Karen wasn’t brave enough to make it herself. She would be a good fit for a man like David or someone who would wanted to be a Vice President of a company or a director. Who cared about styling his hair and wearing nicer suites. She is kind but not right for Jim

They didn't give much depth to Karen, it's hard to like her because she was written as an obstacle to a romance that was written to succeed
@ArizonaAstraLLC Жыл бұрын
@@veronicabigham9674You think? If the character was brought 1:1 into real life, she would be a phenomenal girlfriend. Professional with a real job, emotionally mature, beautiful, caring, fun... Checks all the boxes and then some. It's clear that the show dangled Jim and Pam in front of us then eventually had to satisfy us a few seasons later, but Karen is like, the perfect girlfriend.

There is nothing wrong with observation people are making but it's a well written storyline. These things happen in real life too. Jim wasn't doing anything wrong i.e he loved a girl who was engaged and rejected him so he moves on and dated another girl even though he was still in love with pam he tried to get over her and when he finally thought he should move on he realised he can't and he chose the love. Karen was so nice that even after Jim's confession she wanted to stay with him. She was just the right person at wrong time and jim wasn't in love with her. Jim broke up with her the same night he decided to be with pam so it wasn't cheating. Where as pam finally realised that she was always loved jim, she just couldn't have the courage to told him and when she thought she lost jim, he came back to her. The writers did commendable job here to make it more heartwarming rather than dramatic or toxic.

Karen and jim did not have chemistry. It was always a one sided love from karen's side. Pam and Jim are perfect for each other in the greatest way possible. Karen is great but she does not belong with Jim.

I always just feel so terrible for Karen. He wasted her time lol but he thought he had no chance with Pam and was trying to move on. So sad tho.
