Ashley, as you & all of us could hear, this duo gave a solid performance. Of course we expect this from Luther, but most people (as previously stated from others) didn't really know that "Mr. Tap Dance Extraordinaire" Gregory Hines would handle himself in such a wonderfully competent way with none other than "Luther Vandross" of all people! - Gregory gets props for even having the courage to sing next to such a vocal icon! Kudos to Gregory! 👏🏾....Luther, debatably "The G.O.A.T." - R.I.P. to both, and Ashley, good reaction.

This was a shock because when this song came out I don't think a lot of people knew that Gregory Hines could sing. And everyone knows that. Gregory Hines is one of the best tap dancers to ever be since he tapped with some of the greats, you should check out a movie called "Tap" you'll see Gregory Hines with some of the great Sammy Davis Jr. Buster Brown, Harold Nicholas of the Nicholas Brothers and a few others whose name. I can't quite remember if you're able to check out that movie. May they both Rest in Peace 🙏🏾🙏🏾

Shenanigans 😂, you right tho, facts! Two true icons you listened to right here. There are few male singers who sang with the clarity & intonation (pitch control) that Luther did, & sounded so natural & effortlessly doing it. Sam Cooke would be his predecessor, who perhaps layed the blueprint for that, & Andy Williams (Moon River, Most Wonderful Time of the Year). Gregory was unique because he was an amazing triple threat entertainer that it seemed the industry didn’t know how to push. He was 1st of all, a master legendary tap dance artist, who singlehandedly helped to connect the classic jazz style with the funk in the tap world. This was his first vocal release produced by Luther, but anyone who heard Gregory on Broadway knows he was a dynamic powerhouse singer, and his acting seemed so natural, no matter what part he played. In this regard he was like the late great Sammy Davis Jr. who was incredibly talented beyond what most people know about him. I think there was another video to this album for a song with a shuffle groove called, That Girl Wants to Dance With Me, & featured actress Pam Grier. 👍🏾
