17:59 Thank you for explaining these things that are being said about Ozempic or related medicines. I’ve battled my weight for years and I find that this is the only thing that is helping me conquer the battle. I give up trying to explain to family and friends that it has quieted the food noise. If I feel like I want something, I used to crave and constantly think about it and finally cave. I find with Ozempic I can think and tell myself I don’t need it and it soon passes. Once again I’m so glad that I can watch your KZbin channel and reassure myself that yes I’m doing the right thing

A friend of ours has been on Ozempic for about 14 months and ended up with permanent stomach paralysis. They said she will need a feeding tube from now on. Please let me know your thoughts. Thanks.

We need so much more information to confirm. Every case I have seen or heard about thus far there has been confounders ie. Person taking both Ozempic AND Saxenda to try and hasten weight-loss, or had underlying gastroparesis prior to treatment, etc. Its easy to say, 'I developed X symptom and it just so happens I am on the drug that everyone is talking about. Therefore it was the drug.' But without knowing the full clinical picture and better yet having her situation published as a case report, its just hearsay. Not saying that it isn't possible but we haven't seen any evidence demonstrating permanent stomach paralysis directly because of a GLP-1.

Thanks Dr. Dan! I have been on Wegovy 2.4mg for a year and have had no problems with stomach paralysis, only constipation. Now taking metamucil capsules, Miralax and water in the morning. Colace combo tablet of stool softener and laxative in the evening and that got things flowing again. Also taking Magnesium Glycinate 4 capsules in the evening. It took a while to figure this formula out.

i'm looking into the notion that weight loss/consistent ketosis can cause gallstones. would you have any studies you'd point to for further learning? i'm trying to assess if this is a minor risk or very positively correlated. thanks!

Question : were the randomized control trials sponsored by the drug companies or independent? I have also heard that there are new protocols for surgery prep for patients on GLP1s due to gastric issues (waste staying in intestines longer than usual)

Thanks for the video Dr. Dan! But could you talk about the most pressing problem facing Ozempic users? The problem I’m talking about is availability of the drug in Canada. I’m on 1mg weekly and I can’t find the pens anywhere in Ontario!!! For the last 2 months I’ve been transferring my prescription from one pharmacy to another because of supply issues. Now, this month, it is out everywhere!!! What is going on??? Do you know anything about the supply issues in Canada? When will it be restocked?

Week 4 of .25 Wygovy-lost 11 pounds so far. Mild nausea and constipation. Since Wygovy slows down digestion, might that cause stomach paralysis? And what amount of water is enough? Even my water craving has gone away! Thanks for your very informative videos💝

A lot of people with GP get horrible side effects from prokinetics, the safer ones aren’t even available in many western countries. I don’t think it’s worth taking any GLP1 meds. The benefits stent worth the risk of getting a horrible disease.

@theofficialdrdan9 ай бұрын
The medication doesn't cause kidney failure. If someone fails to consume enough fluids certainly dehydration could occur and they experience an AKI but even that is rare or there is usually other extenuating factors!

I am type 2 diabetic. I've been on Ozempic since 16 July and have had the worst side effects! Nausea from Hell and unable to vomit, muscle and fat loss, (30 lbs the first 8 weeks because food looked horrid), severe fatigue, already diagnosed with gastroparesis before it being prescribed, severe constipation, explosive belching, dehydration, blood sugar lows, brain fog, gallbladder pain. Lost 40lbs so far and can't handle more than a weekly injection of .5mg. Tried to go up to .75 mg and spent 4 days in bed unable to do anything! Talked to my doctor two days ago and she's going to try me on Trulicity. Keeping my fingers crossed. Looking at the bright side, I only have 15 more pounds to lose and I probably will come off all glp-1 agonists thereafter. 😢

I was same, I went Really slowly, often stepping back a tiny bit. I would do the tiniest increases when I stalled. Many quit. So glad I didn’t. I started in April and down 80 pounds with maybe 10 pounds left, ideally 20 if I’m greedy. have normal energy now and short lived nausea that’s not a big deal, usually in the morning. I plan on being a lifer. Dr said unusual to be so sick. It was exhausting to just be alive in the worst it. Suggest patience and tenacity. Many days miserable on couch but life is awesome now. Looking forward to skiing most weekends again after being too fat and embarrassed for years. Other benefits like depression lifted and medical issues rectified. I have been to yo-yo dieting since mom started restricting food at two! Hopefully that will be in the past with regular semiglutide shots. No more obsessive compulsive behavior. New lease on life❤ I hope you find similar happiness too. Curious about how you do moving forward

On Ozempic since end of Feb. I have lost 86 lbs. I’ve gone through projectile vomiting, nausea and weakness but it has been well worth it. Have I had gallbladder or pancreatitis pain? Absolutely, have I told my Dr.? No way! I’m afraid she will take me off the medication.

Never forget to listen to your body. Yes, weight loss seems to be the primary goal but at what risk? Your body tells you what is working for you and what is not. You have to be honest and communicate with your Dr if your goal is to be healthy and have along life. The thought of not wanting to share your side effects should be a red flag that your no longer taking the medication as prescribed which can be dangerous and life threatening. Blessings to you and remember the first step in healing is being honest about to and about yourself ❤ Goodluck 🙏🏾
