that last game... the artist deserves some serious credit. its not often you see animation that smooth in a game like that. It sucks that the dev couldnt be bothered to give a shit, cuz that artist put in some serious work.

My understanding is that the artist is also the sole developer and basically the only reason it got shit out on steam in its current state is because the publisher is a trainwreck of a company. This game as apparently been in development for around 6 years so it could probably use another couple decades to cook at that rate. Seems like the guy is a great artist and animator the publisher probably should've hired an actual dev to work on the game instead of letting him do his own thing though

The art for the last game was created by an artist called 'Taboolicious'. To my understanding, he's a professional artist, and has been working on Amal' for a while. He's not a programmer and did all of the art himself. I don't know if the game was a solo project or not; I think he has had programmers work on the game over the years; trying not to say anything inaccurate. Obviously, he draws a lot of very adult stuff, but at the very least, people can look him up now if they like his work. His art is killer level.

Store bough assets flipped in a pot and stirred to some crappy seasoning of quick cash in. You read that right, these idiots didn't even turn the stove on! They just mixed them like effing raw lol.

to answer your question from 4:17 -> that is what happens when you solo dev without any form of QA. you get stuck in "your behaviour pattern", which other people would (and will) instantly break bc they don't play the same. basically a "tunneling" prob. ^^ that is why you should have betas. uh and that is also why you never should have complicated "how to"s in those betas, just let people do what they do best, break stuff

I feel like the reason many soulslike games have mixed rather than negative ratings has more to do with alot of soulslike fans being like masochists who see things that in other games would be seen as tedious and bad, losing 80% of your hp in one hit and bloated health pools for example, they see as good additions for difficulty, and I feel like jank is also given more leniency.

Blade and Bones is my biggest regret of the past decade. I bought it on PS4 and thought "Okay, this is a good start. Hopefully they polish it up and make this a great game with updates." I waited two years, not a single update. It is abandonware that was never finished.
