Oooff, hope you feel better soon. While it is not exactly a cure we usually drink a turmeric concoction when sick. A medically educated doctor in Germany (who also studied Ayurvedic Medicine, which is likely where this concoction originates from) recommended this to my mom when she was sick while pregnant and couldn't take antibiotics, it really helps with killing the invasive throat bacteria. My family has used it for decades and we have found that it really speeds up the recovery and eases throat pains. It a mixture of Turmeric, black pepper, lemon juice and honey. I pour a third of a small glass of medium warm water (or about 100 ml) into a cup. I make sure it is not too hot (you should be able to hold your finger in the water without it hurting), then stir in 1 or 1,5 teaspoon (depending on how little you tolerate bitter stuff since this concoction is quite bitter) into the water. It is quite important that the water is not too hot or else the honey will lose its healing and recovery properties. I squeeze out and add half of a lemons juice into the cup, then add a quarter of a teaspoon of black pepper and lastly half a teaspoon of turmeric, mix it all really well together (make sure you consume it shortly after stirring since the ingredients will separate so just stir it again if they do). I also make a warm drink (usually tea) to drink after I have consumed the concoction to get rid of the bitter aftertaste (recommend you do too). My family usually drinks it at least 3 times a day for the first 4-5 days of sickness depending on how we are feeling then you can decrease it to 2 times a day. We also continue to drink it for about 3 more days after we have "recovered" to make sure it stays that way. Lastly to really help ease the throat pains at night (that's when they are at their worst for me at least) I drink a cup of warm milk with honey before brushing my teeth to make sure it is the last thing I drink (you can also stir in some unsalted butter if you want to). I would recommend not drinking or gargling your throat with water after drinking the honey milk for it to have the best effect. Hope some of this helps and I wish you a swift recovery! ❤‍🩹.
