We have crappie who do the same thing in the winter. The only way to catch them is to drop down to a 1-1.25" bait. They turn their nose up to anything larger than this.

Enjoy your videos. Wish we had white perch here in Florida. Could you tell me where and what fish landing net you use. I bought one with rubber mesh and it's to short and two heavy. I love this channel. I know theres no way you could actually eat all the fish you keep yourself… i mean right? Unless ya eat it every day. I know when i get limits i give away a lot or most of It would be really cool if you did a compilation video of all the friends and neighbors you give your fish to. How well is the Terrova trolling motor holding up for you? As much as you fish you really get to put them to the test. I trust your feedback on them. I'm currently looking at getting one. Mostly wondering how spot lock does and keeps you on a spot. Thank you!

Love the spotlock on it. Sometimes it sticks and you got to turn the motor off to stop it from running, but so far It's doing fine. I only use the remote to control it not the foot control.
