Yall see Mark Huntsman on this channel ALOT. He’s the owner of A1 Auto Parts in Buckeye Lake where we go for nearly everything we need for daily maintenance parts and supplies.
But what most people DONT know, is that Mark has his own Hot Rod.
His dad’s 1955 Chevy has been in the family for a VERY long time, and for the first time in 30 years, the old Big Block Chevy powered 55 hits the streets, and Mark puts a call out on Uncle Bucko! 🤣

Really good video! I had a similar combo as Uncle Mark in the late 70's in a 69 Chevelle SS. 427, tunnel ram with a single 1150 dominator carb, mushroom tappet cam, 12.5:1, square port heads, Muncie M22, and a 4.88 gear. It ran 6.14 in the 1/8th with basically no interior other than seats and dash...

I’m glad mark has his car about done. I stoped in a1 auto the other day on my way back home from Jegs and got to talk to mark and he was very nice and I told him I stopped to try and stump him didn’t work. He had the part. Mark's 427 is basically a decammed L88. The L78 396, L72 427 and the LS6 454 all shared the same camshaft.

I loved this video. I'm blown away by how far Mark from A-1 drives to his store. Also, so happy he has his 55' back out rocking. He seems like such a nice guy. Bucko is a hoot. 2 things Bill. First, I have a new found respect for Chumpo and that ‘55. 12:5 to 1 427 w/ a solid flat tappet ain’t no joke. Second, and you may be aware, but there are some weld in upper and lower rear control arm braces / gussets available for G body’s that strengthen the frame mounting points. I installed them on my ‘86 T-Type.
