This video "spark plugs change" is the best advertisement for iridium plugs I've seen (assuming of course Iridium plugs last twice as long as regular copper/platinum plugs ). Thank god for Boxer engines, having said that I did own an F800ST before learning my lesson.

I'm riding for 25 years and for 10 years I'm doing maintenance myself. This weekend, I was performing maintenance on my f800R first time, but the spark plug change was a nightmare. I have forced the stuck socket but I can't decide socket turn or maybe I damaged the thread. After I watch your video, I understand that I need to grind the socket and from the comment, the section socket should be 21mm dia. After grinding the socket, spark plug change becomes super easy. Thank you for the good informative video. Nice explanation, nice illumination, nice camera angles, and a nice super clean bike.

You can also just simply buy what's called a thin wall socket

After you had disconnected the battery for a some time did you have a problem withthe tyre pressure monitoring system not showing the tyre pressure & therfore had to use the motorscan to "re calibrate" the system?

Thank you very much for posting this video. I learned a great deal from it. Have you done one for fuel system overhaul? My F800R has been in long-term storage and won’t start. I’m pretty sure it’s caused by stagnant fuel (silly me). 😒

Maybe a bit over engineered, sensors for this and that, but those spark plugs had never been tightened up, good job.

Please Could I ask if your 800 suffers from vibration , I am having issues where the bike has a constant vibration in slow riding ok about 50 mph but bad after that . Tyres balanced and correct pressure, if feels like the motor is loose in the frame but it’s not , thanks in advance

Hoi old mechanic, Ik heb zelf ook een F800 waar ik de bougies van wil gaan vervangen. Ik zag dat jij een bougiesleutel hebt afgeschuurd/geslepen. Wat is daar de diameter van nu? Dan weet ik vooraf of mijn sleutel past. Alvast bedankt!
