BMW F800GT [2014] HOWTO make your GEAR SHIFTER have less PLAY..? EASY..!!!

I just did this on my F800ST. It was missing the metal collar bushing altogether. After putting in both new parts (collar bushing and plastic sleeve) I felt it still had tou much play as the collar nut was slightly longer than the pedal itself was wide, causing about a half mm play. I made a plastic shim with the hole just large enough to clear the collar bushing, but snugging up against the pedal, removing most of the remaining play. Being plastic, it allows the pedal to still move easily and now there's practically no more play, and much securer gear shifts compared to when I bought the bike a month ago. Thanks for posting.

I changed also that piece on my BMW F800ST and after a while, let's say about 10.000 kms it started to have the same play again. What I do since then, is to tight up a thin insulating strap around the pedal adjustment screw to avoid the play on the pedal. I know is not the best solution but putting the new busch didn't solve the problem in my case that is why I decided not to renew it again. Thanks for your videos and explanations!

I once lost that bottom nut on my previous F800GT. I don't know how, one day all of a sudden I could no longer gear down, I had to stop and see what was going on. Bought a new nut, a lock nut and it was fine since then... From that day onwards I regularly check the gear shifter before moving and it definitely has quite some play. Thank you for the video sir! why dont you use a glacial bush ! cheaper available at you Bearing store no one uses plastic

Shift lever on shift shaft has a tightening torque of 9Nm
