Hey Mr. Old Mechanic hope you are well. Today I was going on a motorcycle ride today and as I was backing it out the driveway the rear brakes were completely locked up. Now last month I rebuilt the rear master cylinder so I thought it was something I did. I went to bleed the brake system again but the rear brake pedal would not move. I took the cylinder apart and the rubber at the end of the spring was jammed. I took it back the dealer where I got the rebuild kit and it turns out they gave me the wrong kit. It fit but the rubber they gave me with the spring was just a little bigger then what I needed. Took me all day to do this. I shared this with you because your videos did NOT make me give up. Thank you so much. Also you were right. Dealers !

Hallo old mechanic.

Great simple video. I just bought a 2006 Vmax and it is beautiful. I am starting to do maintenance on it, and I notice you are using a slightly different oil from what the owner's manual recommends. I am no expert on oils. Can you expand on why using 75W-90 Multigrade Fully synthetic GL4 is equal to or better than Owners Manual Recommended: "Hypoid Gear oil SAE 80 (API GL4) or multi-grade hypoid oil SAE 80W-90". I have spent all morning trying to learn about it and making sure I select the proper oil. Note: O.M. also says GL5 and GL6 Hypoid gear oils rated GL5 and GL6 may also be used. Thank you, JR

Hallo Mr. Old Mechanic, I really like your vids. Just bought my first Vmax 1200, very happy with it. One Question, did you also put some grease on the bolts before putting them back ? I didn't see you do it. Groetjes Edward.

Oil 75W-90 fully synthetic, right?, or 75W140 is better?. Thanks alot.

Dude it’s not a rear transmission it’s a differential
@lennardlennard49621 күн бұрын
It's not a differential. A differential has 2 axles. It's a final drive.
