Anyone that thinks a barber picks up a pair of scissors and just cuts hair, is way off target, it's an actual science. I wish I lived closer so you could cut mine mate, I am still using your lockdown cut your own hair tutorial.

Thanks Bryan, for sure it's a science. Geometry is massive in barbering and even more so in hairdressing. The learning is endless. I'm nearly 20 years in and still learning.

@The One Minute Barber Thank you sooo much. Because as you might have noticed most of the everybody's videos most of the face results are just the same. Especially at the back of the neck, almost half of the hairs are gone (im referring to the height) And one day perhaps another video of same idea but taper instead 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

@@theoneminutebarber Watching toher videos that you have made, I found the answer to my question to 'HOW to make the 'Belnd on the sides' with your UP and DOWN method with guard No. 2. Half of my hair from mid head side is SHAVED OFF COMPLETELY and wanted to know HO TO make the 'Military fade' From middle to top of side of the head. NOW it shall be time to do some 'Practice and Error' time, thank God Hair grows back !!! Ha Ja Ha Have a great weekend and thank you so much for explaining 'Hair Cutting' made simple !!! Cheers, Mate !!!

@@theoneminutebarber Good Afternoon my good man (it is morning for me here in Montréal, Québec, Canada) I did use all the guards for the sides (From 3 to 1 closed blade), but since I want FLAT Side (Military way) I am now facing to use the bare blade (Open blade, maybe closed blade) but did chickened out....did not want to 'SCRAP' the haircut altough I know it shall grow back...Ha Ja Ha What is your suggestion !?! Have a great Evening and rest of week. Cheers, Mate !!!

If it looks ok, then just leave it. You are doing well if you can produce something good without destroying it. The bare blade is quite unforgiving.

Absolutely I've been using it on pretty much every cut since they manufactured it. It's a brilliant machine. There are good equivalents also made by Gamma.

Is it easier to make fade on dark or blonde hair? What do you think?

on prices of haircuts especially skin fades i worked in the west end of glasgow and a skin fade was £38.50 you would maybe see the customer once a month i opened my own shop 3 years ago and charge £18 sounds cheap but now i do a loyalty card , tenth haircut is half price its a little bit of reverse psychology now i see the same people every single week because they want to fill the card! obviously the consinstancy of the haircut is paramount and keeping the fade sharp end of the day more expensive isnt always the way forward it defo works for my buisness

That's always the biggest debate. How much should a haircut be. For me it's based on how much does it cost to run the business and how much profit do I need? It's good to hear you've got a system working well with your clients that's building up loyalty but I bet they'd come to you regardless of the loyalty card, if there is some coming every week then your service is in demand.

It's one of the most debated things in barbering. How much should a haircut cost? I know of one guy, he works in two shops, one is really high end, the other not so much. He gives the same haircut in both places but charges differently. There are so many variable costs in a shop. For me I actually had a consultant work out the cost of running my shop for every minute of the year that the shop is open plus what profit I need, and I set my price according to that. I also stopped giving discounts to various demographics, kids, senior citizens, students. It really simplified the business
