I don’t know why, but the Song of Healing has always been a song that has connected deeply with me on an emotional, and spiritual level. It is a song that has the most beautiful sounds for such a simplistic melody. They fill you with a feeling of melancholy, yet at the same time a sensation of hope. It is a song that holds power in the game to help those with a troubled fate to move on. To finally rest and be at peace. And the mask that is left behind is the physical embodiment showing that the individual was indeed there. You have taken a song that spiritually embodies the entire spectrum of emotions an individual feels in the game, and turned it into the perfect melody that brings that exact notion to the surface with each movement. At the start, the ticking clock is the sign of the beginning, and yet the end. As the sounds of the voice comes in, you can hear the sounds of rushing thoughts sweeping by, only to be silenced by the quiet accompaniment of the organ of n the background, and the gentle notes of the piano embody sadness. The violin sounds as if it is bringing one closer to realization. Then, the drum resounds, allowing for a clear recollection to flow in as the piano resounds louder. The voice, sounding as if mocking or even angered comes in. Only to fade away. Then the chorus comes in, and you feel a sensation of calm, and as the prominent female voice comes back in, you are overcome by the sensation of sadness. But a welcomed embrace that says you have no need to be sad anymore. And then, it reaches its high point. And tears are allowed to flow as you are made to know that you are not alone… followed by a moment of silence, and an aura of fear if that feeling you just had was a dream. Only for the voice to return and allay the very thought, encouraging you to let go of all those notions that filled you, and finally, finally be free. And as the final notes resound, you can feel as if you are removing the mask that tormented you.

This song is just so beautiful yet sorrowful, so emotional yet depressing, and so twisted yet telling. I listened to this song as I battled these past several years with mental illness, namely Schizophrenia. This song was there to pick me up, yet at the same time remind me that my despair was far from over. The madness was around the corner, always. To me this song is comfort. This song let's you breathe from the fueling madness within us all. But at the end of the song, we are reminded that our world has yet to change, that sorrow still remains. It heals to a point, but the pain is still there. And it won't go away until one takes action. That, to me, is the essence of Majora's Mask. This is the Song of Healing in it's true form.

I've been in love with Majoras Mask since I was a small child and I've literally been obsessed with this concept of the world ending or the end of time (Not that I actually want it to happen) but the thought of it is magnificently beautiful which is exactly what your music, art, work proves and shows. Your remastered music turned a magnificent beautiful game into a piece of art and beauty and filled with so much emotion. I can't fathom the excitment of the releasing of this second disk had on me. I've waited as everyone else has for a disc 2, 4 years and its finally here. I've never been so appreciative and so attracted to such music before. Just listened to the entire disk. Loved it, thank you Theophany. You are a god among men. One thing that struck me while listening to the full release: In this teaser around the 2:40 mark you could hear someone murmuring in Japanese. I felt that was odd at first. But when I saw the subsequent animated short I realized the voice belonged to the Happy Mask Salesman (who knew he was Japanese~?). So the murmuring in the teaser made a lot more sense as it depicts the HMS descending into panic and chaos as he realizes that the skull kid had taken away the Majora's Mask. So while I was listening to the full release I was joyfully anticipating hearing the HMS again, but it turns out his lines was removed from the full release (aww..) Anyway, that was just me babbling nonsense. Great work as always, Theophany. I really enjoyed the Song of Healing, Deku Palace, F'ing Odolwa Battle, and that majestic Oath to Order that totally blew me away. Thank you Theophany. I'll eagerly anticipate disk 3!

my little brother was born 01/13/1986. Zelda was released on the nes 02/21/1986. He passed away from a brain tumor stage 4 glioblastoma multiforme on 05/20/2020. I........it hurts......it still does. As i take my 6th shot of jack daniels tonight, because my bday is coming up on the 19th of December....and his bday is coming up again on the 13th of January. I get to distance myself in age again by another year. we were 3 years apart....but now with every passing year our age gap gets wider. I held him as he passed away and took his last breathe. As tears ran down his face....I heard this song as I drove to his funeral. It rained that day....the irony.....I thought of "song of storms". The kid was speaking to me from beyond the grave. Anyway....I can not play this game anymore without thinking of him. My 7 yr old kid asks to play breathe of the wild and I say no...with no reason....I dont give him any. I last played the remake of links awakening with him before he passed. No one can play hat game. I can not continue that game. I left it exactly the way i left it when he was helping me all night playing it. Bah....I'm just pouring unto you guys my guilt...I shouldve...couldve done more... he trusted me to save him...i failed him....fuck it....I'm sorry...for being selfish all these years little bro. my 2 yr old reminds me of him....I see the same look in his eye. Like if it was him reincarnated.

If anyone would want to humor me there's this story I've pictured in my head that I see whenever I hear this song. (Chapter 1 The days of Bliss - 0:00 to 2:04) It starts with the Mask salesman wondering about different lands trading for different masks, with their own unique attributes whether that be physically or magically. The Masks Salesman is just enamored with the masks he collects but is always looking for something new. (1:03) But one day as he's walking through a forest, he hears singing. A bewitching song being sung by a beautiful woman dancing around in a clearing; sunbeams pouring down on her. The Salesman is enamored by her performance, but as he watches her is caught off guard by something else. A peculiar mask around her hip. He walks towards her or rather the mask as it almost feels like it calls to him. Startled by the emergence of this random man in the woods she stops her singing and gasps. Realizing how awkward he must've seemed the Mask Salesman snaps out of this trance. He apologizes and just tells her how absorbed he was in the beauty of her dance. After some back and forth he questions her about the mask. She does not say much about it, only that it is a peculiar mask and that no one but those in her tribe may hold onto it. As if it was some sacred duty to carry it. He knows there's something more to this mask, he knows it's Special. The Masks Salesman asks if he could trade anything, anything in his wild collection for that mask but she refuses, and he doesn't press any further but at least asks to learn more about the mask and perhaps learn more about her. Charmed by his witty small talk and interest in her culture she takes him back to her village. A small humble one secluded in the woods. (1:32) It is here where he meets the people who know the history of the Mask but do not dare to speak it amongst anyone but their most trusted. He figures if he can gain their trust and get closer to her, he may learn more about the mask's magical capabilities, and maybe one day hold it for himself. So he asks to stay at the village and they oblige as long as he does one task for them. Make sure the Girl is safe wherever she goes. An easy task it seems as not many travel through these woods, and it gave him more time to be with the holder of the Mask. (Chapter 2 The forming of Bonds - 2:05 to 2:35) So that he does, Stay by her side. He helped her and the village with their tasks, becoming closer with all of them learning some of their magic along the way. Learning their culture. And the Dancing Woman took to his eagerness to learn more about her people and their ways. All in this "Up - Married life" kind of montage but with this music But that desire to take the mask for his own started to fade, as his Love for the Woman Grew. She taught him the most about their magic but taught him the most important thing he'd ever learn. The Magic of the Song of Healing. The Song she sings every day on that clearing. A song that calms any beast, and puts content into any soul, but can also ward off darkness that may be seeping into one's soul. The calming entrancing dance wasn't just because of the beautiful performance, but the magic of the song. But despite the healing factors of the Song, after every performance her face was full of Tears. The Masks Salesman asked her why that was and she only responded with "The toll of my task is heavy". Nevertheless the Salesman would take this, content, happiness and bliss over anything. He asked if he could make that burden lighter for her. He asked if he could stay with her forever. He asked to Marry her. Overwhelmed with Joy she says yes and they announce it to the village, who celebrate and make preparations for their wedding day. (2:36 to 3:05) The Masks Salesman reminiscing the good days before it all crumbled away (Chapter 3 The Calamity - 3:06 to 5:19) (3:08) The Salesman goes to sleep the night before their wedding, but is woken up by the smell of cinders, then the orange light of flames peers into his room. The screaming of people outside echoing through the window. (3:16) He throws the door open and rushes outside to see the village engulfed in an inferno, few running away in terror, many already laying dead on the ground. With a few people too struck with grief, weeping on their knees next to their lifeless bodies. The Masks Salesman rushes into the flames through the village, Overwhelmed with thoughts of where his love could be and what could have happened to her. But what he saw at the center of the village was worse than anything he could ever imagine. (3:38) It was her Prancing around the center of the village in her usual Jolly dance, surrounded by the hellfire and screams of torment of people in the village she was killing. The Mask, no longer around her hip. But on her face. She pranced around carelessly. Effortlessly. Almost hypnotically as demonic vines from her arms grabbed people fleeing and sliced them up. Stunned in horror he can barely move, but knows something must be done to stop her. He grabs a knife from the corpse of one of the villagers who attempted to fight back. (3:54) He approaches her, Knife in hand, slowly as the Blazing fires were overwhelming and made it hard to see her through the disorienting smoke and heatwave. But there's one thing he can keep track of which is the bright glowing eyes of the mask. As he finally reaches her he cries out "Why!? Why're you doing this" "Darling, my Love. This is all to protect you." She replies (Flashback section not tied to song) For years the mask has been carried by a keeper, someone to stave off the Mask's attempts to be worn and protect anyone else from hearing its call. That is why they Sing the Song of Healing but even the Holder can only take so much which is why this Sacred Role is passed between only the most trusted of their people, the strongest of will and mind. But when the Woman fell in love with the Masks Salesman, the mask slowly put fear in her heart overtime. Fear that something might happen to him, fear that others may hurt him, fear that felt as if it could only be cured by having the power to prevent that from ever happening. And the Mask used that fear to finally bear a wearer after hundreds of years, and kill the very people that have been keeping it at bay for all that time. The Masks Salesman pleas to the Woman, begging her to stop, to come to her senses, to come back to him. But She only gives him a glance before continuing this slaughter. "Please… please don't make me do this" he shutters as his shaking arms lift the blade towards her. (4:10 to 4:41) She turns back towards him and approaches slowly as more demonic tendrils grow from her back they wrap the Salesman up and violently jolt him toward her stopping him only a few inches from her face. From the masks Beady Yellow eyes. "Pleas- my Love- don't make-" he struggled to say as one of the arms slowly tightened around his throat. He tries to muster the strength to to pull the Knife up toward her (4:42 to 5:05 -images flash in her mind the last remnants of it remaining within her, of the Masks Salesman and their time together, their bonding, their love) (5:06) "This role exacts a heavy toll" she says sorrowfully. Before, she, with the last remaining will she has that the Mask hasn't taken away from her, takes his arm and plunges the knife into her chest. (5:13) (The silence after 5:19 lingers a little longer to let this scene play out) "...I- I'm m… sorr…y. Darl-......" she mutters with the last of her strength, gargling through the blood building up within her, tears cascading down her chin, peeking out from underneath the mask before it falls off, and she collapses. *Fade to black* (Chapter 4 The Remnants and the Descent- 5:20 to 7:10) (5:20) Cut to the rainfall at 6am, the dim blue sky of the sun yet to breach the horizon, complemented by the eerie fog from the flames of the village that have been put out. All you hear is the raindrops pattering on the remaining wood structures, the slight crackle of embers that remain, (5:35) and off in the distance the faint distressed, distraught and absolutely soul crushing weeping of the Masks Salesman, still at the center of the village, holding the Woman he loves in his arms. Howling towards the sky then looking down to her face, the amount of tears pouring out rivaling that of the rainfall. He caresses her face and side of her head shakily as he looks into the eyes once filled with so much love, but so much pain he could not see, as now they stare lifelessly into a great beyond. He Pulls her close to his chest, shuddering with every stressed, quiet, yet convulsing weep. (6:20) He continues holding her caressing her head until he hears whisper next to them, the taunting childish laughter of the Mask echoes through the forest. The Mask salesman imbued, and pulsing with rage placed his Love down. He picks up the knife, stained with Blood, approaches the Mask on the ground and raises the knife over his head, his eyes twitching with Fury. He wants nothing more than to Plunge that Knife deep into that mask and split it in half. But despite how much his arms shake in anticipation he can't bring it down. He realizes the Mask took enough energy from his Wife to cast one last spell. A curse, never allowing the Salesman to strike him down. And it slowly comes to him, that he is the new Keeper of the Mask. He must keep the Mask safe from affecting others. He must carry this Abomination, that took his life, his happiness, his love away from him. (6:45) The Mask's laughter continues to subtly echo throughout the forest, as the Salesman's maniacal Laughter slowly starts up and joins the Masks, as the last of his sanity begins to fade away before he let's one last heart wrenching wail, it cuts to black (6:54) and the echoing remnants of the Woman's singing echoes in his mind. (7:10)

This really isn't meant to be first read while you're listening to the song but to be read first then paired with the song as the events that played out play in your head as you keep up with the time stamps and you envision the story. I know it's convoluted as hell but it's the only way I feel anyone who wants to read this can see what I saw when I heard this song. Theophany's work on the music of Majora's Mask has been my muse. I'm still in the process of writing a tragic back story on the history of the mask, the fall of Ikana, and many other tragedies before the events of Majora's Mask. It makes my heart dance to see someone equally inspired by this music to write something so beautiful.

@@Creative_Teaholic I don't have anything else posted but I do have just a ton of ideas I've had stored in my head for potential adaptations of storylines for Zelda and other games that have just been inspired by various works like Theopany's here. Though I honestly might think of posting more in other places. Like for the Cleffer Notes version of Final Hours for Majoras mask. I always envisioned if I got to do an adaptation of Zelda, I dunno quite how I would do it, I really would wanna try to Adapt OoT as one of the most iconic Zelda games of all time, but what I REALLY would love to do is a high quality Netflix type series for Majoras Mask, because I think the side quests and overall themes of sorrow, maturity, and healing are so potent with rich quality. Like it's just on a silver platter waiting to be adpated into something wonderful. I'd want the series to just delve more into Termina, it's people and how they're effected by Skull Kid/Majoras Masks meddling, as well as the backstory/implications of the past of Termina before even the Majoras mask incident takes place. It would have a few main episodes, that tackle stuff like the dungeons, and their regions, and the healing of their lands, but just like the game, the highlights of the show would be the side stories. Just showing how alive and real the people of termina feel as well as just the lore of the land that comes with that. God I could go on and on and on about how mucb I love so many aspects of Termina, but I'll try to keep it short. But basically I wanted to show Link interacting with all these people showing off how different people are reacting to that underlying dread of the impending doom that is the moon falling on them. How some are in panick, some try to remain oblivious, and how some accept their inevitable fate. Link would grow attached to the people of Termina as he az well as the audience learn more and more not just of them and their stories but the suffering their land has been through. And a lot of the episodes would just be focused on various side quests highlighting these things. I have a lot of plans I'd have for the series, but something I'd really wanna do is unlike the games, when Link Travels back in time he loses the Masks he gets from helping the people of Termina in his sidequests (so basicay all the masks that aren't transformation masks). And with it he knows that their fate that they were destined to before he intervined and helped them would come to be again. Cremia would be abducted and Labotmized by aliens, Romani would never be able to deliver milk, and keep her fsmily business afloat, Pamela would still be with her Father corrupted as a Gibdo, Anju would never know what hapoened to Kafei, and they would never get to meet again to and never have that resolution in their hearts knowing the other is okay. All these things would reverse with the rest of the 3 day cycle, and Link has to sit there knowing if he doesn't help them they are doomed to experience that. Throughout the series I'd want Link to get to the moment of the Final hours multiple times, and when he does it plays the iconic music with the bells just like it does in the game. That sinking feeling of dread, yet that emptiness and sort of "calm" from knowing it's inevitable. That no matter what we do, we are going to die. That feeling if acceptance of death even if you don't know if you're ready for it. It just strikes both panic and calm into your heart in this heartbreaking way, and I'd want for people to feel that when watching those scenes. But for the very last episode I'd love for it to start with a sort of montage set to something more akin to Cleffer Notes version of the Final Hours music with little to no soundeffects just shots. The music starting off more somber showing off the various characters if Termina and how they are dealing with their last hours. Shots of empty Clock Town square from many of the toens folk fleeing, a Shot of the Swordsman cowering in the back of his dojo, Romani giving Cremia her first alcholic beverage to numb the oain of death, Gorman drinking in the bar, the major looking out the windo of his office wondering if he truly did everything he could to save his townsfolk, Kafei and Anju embracing eachother, able to welcome death together because they are just happy to be together one last time etc. Etc. I could honestly just go on and on and and on. But as the music gets closer to the halfway point we see Link in Termina field in a determined stance, fists clenched, teeth gritting as he looks up st the moon in that amber sky night gritting it's teeth back at the world. Link can't sit there idly by as the people who he now calls friends suffer, he has to save them all, he has to at least try. And just before the music really kicks off into the more epic and hopeful theme, he puts his lips to the Ocarina as he goes back in time to try and save them all. And then thr montage really kicks off, as we see Link running, going through various shots if various locations throughout termina, doing everything he can in his power to save everyone in the three day cycle. And it would also show Links failings. The 3 day cycles where he couldn't save everyone, ones where people died, ones where he was too late and something horrible happened, and shots of Link in frustration ovee these failings, the trauma of deeing ones close to him die over and over, as he does this sort of Edge of Tomorrow Routine to try and save everyone in a perfect 3 day cycle. And thriughout the montage it would have shots of just Link running intermittent and when Link finally stops running he's in front of the clock tower when the music calms and all there are are piano notes. You know he finally made it, he finally made it to the perfect 3 day cycle and has all the masks, nit because of some collectathon, but because Link had to save everyone, he couldn't let them suffer, and with that he's ready to face Majoras Mask as those piano notes play and the shot slowly pans up to Link looking up st the clock tower and the moon yet again but now right at it's doorstep. I also a while back always had the theory that the Fierce Deity was never just some random morally ambiguous Godly being, but that it was the culmination of the people and the will of Termina, not just those alive but those who have passed. That unlike Hyrule with their Trinity of Ganondorf, Zelda (Hylia), and Link the hero, Termina only had Majoras Mask and the Goddess of Time (which I have a theory about that just being Hylia but how Termina perceives her but lets not get into that rn) and that they had no hero, Until Link came along and thats why to a degree the land is in shambles, and that the Fierce Deity was born out of the will of the people wanting to have a Hero to save termina. But not all the souls that contributed to the will of Termina and the birth of the Fierce Deity are pure if heart. Some of them are judt as bloody/tainted as many of the other morally questionable characters from Majoras mask, which is why The Fierce Deity isn't just some force for good, and is still sometjing to be feared to a degree. And I love that after I made that theory a little bit after that, I forgot who it was if it was Ao Numa or another Zelda official who basicslly said something to a similar degree in an interview. But I even had an idea for how the Fierce Deity mask was formed during the Giants trying to hold back the Moon, and the masks from the people Link saved fuse into one to make the Fierce Deity mask. But that'll have to be for another day, cause man I typed out way more than I thought I would, and sorry to anyone that actually read all of that, I know I probably made it long and convoluted. But yeah if I ever get to typing out that scene, it might be on thr comment section of Theopany's Oath to Order
