I really want a mini catasetum haul for the winter. I'm almost of space, but there are so many beauties at SVO. If I get them in dormancy, I'll have plenty of time to find a spot for when they get bigger next summer. That's how I think I'm going to justify it anyway :))😂

I would love to see something like a C. Schilleriana coerolea x laelia tenebrosa alba, or something similar that just keeps pushing more and more spotted coerulea/alba/green tones. Or things like tenebrosa crossed to get more and more compact. Green Acladiae and Schill, are my favorites I just love all the varieties.

Great great ... GREAT!!! Oh my ... no wonder you are excited 🤩 I have the kyoguchi and it’s fragrance is so elegant and easy on the nose, for such a little bloom! Is your cross fragrant?? Yay!! I have Laelia Zip and it has settled into semi hydro like no tomorrow! The leaves of mine are darker with edging / freckles of anthocyanin even though I have it a shadier spot since I got it. It’s growing really well & I hope it will bloom next year ... great video... more please!

Your new C. schilleriana v. coerula plant reminds me of one I bought, around 20 years ago, at the San Diego spring orchid show, with the round leaves and short pseudobulbs. The vendor was a local grower, and older man more of a hobbyist than a professional floriculturist, whose name I forget, who was growing out many seedlings. I grew it outdoors for a couple of years, and though it did ok outside it was a very slow grower and never reached blooming size for me before I gave it away.

The Orchid Geek Everyone in Australia is confined to home, we’re only only allowed out to go shopping, work or to the a Dr. I am spending the time cleaning my shade house and other growing areas. Looking forward to seeing your monthly vids.

I have two L. Zip, the littler one put out a sheave last summer and I can see something in it, but it has turned brown now, hopefully it might still bloom but it is a smaller plant than your's, nice haul but why so many duplicates, space must not be a issue for you! great video and yes, I would like to see more!

L. Zip is so captivating! I hope your plant still blooms for you! I get many duplicates in order to find that “special” flower. It not only gives me more diversity but it also helps make sure I end up with something I’ve never seen before and maybe take into judging in the future... (fingers crossed) space is always an issue, but I sell plants that didn’t make “the cut” so that helps. Thank you for watching 😁

Why must I see the pictures on Instagram as I am not on it. I would like to see the updates on this channel. That being said I look forward to seeing the blooms on the orchids that we are waiting for. The orchids that you picked at gorgeous. Please, please do more parts to your orchid haul. I just love these videos as it gives me some ideas as to ones that I would like to add to my collection at some point. Right now my growing space is very small. So I am enjoying the orchids on this journey with you through your eyes.

Sooo, what do you do with all of the ones that you buy multiples of? Do you only keep ones that are exceptional or keep all of them? Cause, twenty Zips is going to eat a lot of space.

You’re absolutely correct! I only keep the ones that are exceptional, I sell the others on Ebay or at Orchid Shows 😃 space is always a problem, so I have to let things go as I buy more stuff. I try keeping a balance :D that’s why I only buy orchids from SVO every few months and also from other vendors during the spring show season. 😁

Hello! Thanks for watching! The stanhopeas will be part of SVO’s second 2020 release (end of summer, early fall) we don’t want to overwhelm folks so we do two releases. New Paphs will be coming out in about 2-3 months! 😁😃

Hey there! SVO 7257 and SVO 7159 will be Really fragrant! SVO 7159 is C. Mareeba Tiger and it’s fragrance is powerfully sweet! SVO 7257 is a compact deep purple Cattleya that has a floral/spicy scent too! They will be great!
