Hello, what kind of catasetum is in the very beginning of this video starting at 17 seconds of this video? It is so beautiful and I only have one catasetum that I just got this summer, go thank you so much for this content. And I have one last question, I tend to go overboard and buy every orchid I see when I discover a new favorite (like catasetum). I have learned to wait because I end up finding out that there are others of this new kind that are much more to my liking. So can you tell me the names of a couple of your favorites? This is beautiful. Until I am comfortable to care for this type of cattleya, I will hold off- I have a few baby cattleyas that I am learning to grow now, when they give me their first blooms, I can say that I can try other species in my type of environment. Thank you. This had been on my wish list. I am a follower now, I hope you make more current videos. 🙂

1:30 I have always heard that orchids that are in a rest period should not be watered, they even say that in nature they do not receive any type of rain because they "rot". This is not the case, you forget that, in nature, all orchids receive a daily humid bath from the dew that forms during the night when the temperature drops and the ambient humidity condenses. And this is more significant in the jungle and cloud forests.

I am new to your channel and really enjoyed the simple to follow steps for care of this beautiful cattleya. I live in Lake Worth, FL and recently purchased mine from Krull- Smith at the 2022 Tamiami International Orchid Festival in Miami-Dade County, FL. Their selection and obvious care for their plants made this slightly more expensive purchase worth it. I am never disappointed with anything they grow. Thank you and I look forward to more of your videos.
