Professor RobBob, thank you for a great explanation of the Theorem of Pappas that is used to find the Volume of Revolution in Calculus Two. I also used this Theorem to solve Volume of Revolution problems in Engineering Statics and Dynamics.

A segment of a circle of radius R is bounded by an arc equal to 1/3 the circumference of the circle. Find the volume of the solid generated by revolving this segment about its chord as an axis. (This solid is know as Kepler's Lemon). Note: Do note use Integral Calculus

6:50 Instead of 'p' rho is more correct, yeah? The Greek ρ.

So for x[f(x)-g(x)]dx what happens to the f and g or what do they represent. Sorry if this is super basic stuff for every one else.

Great explanation. You did say "p" for the density when I think you should say "rho", the Greek letter for density. (Good to know for people going into-or are already in- physics.) Thanks for the video!

I never learned this in Calc 2 in college. I felt we spent way too much time on series and sequences and missed the centriods portion of the class. Are you going to cover any multi-variable calculus and/or differential equations & linear algebra in the near future?
@profrobbob10 жыл бұрын
I do want to continue to build my Calculus playlist so I will eventually get to multi-variable Calculus. Making lessons for Differential Equations and Linear Algebra will be a long way off. I teach high school full time and next year I will be teaching Algebra 1 for the first time in years and we are getting new books. So I will need to make some Alg videos for my live classes and in-between the PreCalculus, AP Calculus, and AP Statistics classes I also teach I will continue my relearning/making lessons for Calculus 2 and 3:) Thank you for asking and watching!

shane bacawaka theory of pappus takes up just half a page in my calc book, at the very end of the 'moments and centers of mass' section of applications of integration.
