@adelabuidris62924 жыл бұрын

@benkogan5224 жыл бұрын
It's kind of hard to explain but with the direction of current he chose, I1 has to go through that 4 ohm resistor because it is in series with the 20V battery and the 2 ohm resistor which each have I1 going through them. Essentially, I1 is the initial current that then flows into the parallel elements until it returns back with the same current remaining. Look back at the first example. 4 amps flow from the battery into the junction, where it splits into 3 amps and 1 amp, until it returns again with 4 amps to go back through the battery. The total current is never lost when returning to the initial position. Again, this is all relative to the direction of current that he chooses.

Wouldn't the equation at 54:26 be 14=2I1 + 12I2 as I2 is passing through the resistor of 4 ohms?
@EducationalLearning-i7l2 ай бұрын
When additional Voltage Sources are added to the circuit, it causes the amps to act funny since the amps created from the different Voltage Sources can meet up with each other and strengthen the current. In this case, the Amps from the 8 Volt Battery would not go to the Negative Terminal of the 20 Volt battery, rather the 8 Volt Battery will go to it's own Negative Terminal, therefore, the Amps aren't being boosted by the 8 Volt Battery at the 4 Ohms Resistor like it is at i² Resistor, therefore, when the 20 Volt Battery completes its circuit at the 4 Ohm Resistor, it will not have the Amp boost from the 8 Volt Batrery, so it will use its original Amps that it had, which is i¹. And the reason why is because all Amps, AKA Current, wants to return to it's original source that produced it. The Current will not settle for a different Voltage Source, AKA Battery, that did not produce it.
