The problem is that most teachers don't even do that. Like i think the best way to go about a course is to help us vizualize how and when and why we use these in the real world. That way they feel more practical and useful. Then they can tell us like ok this is a matrix, usually it is used to show this and that in real life and first class can be fun and examples only. Then he/she can say ok so we know what it is lets learn how to find it. Then the explantion can proceed like with this guy. When they don't tell us why we learn certain things we tend to forget them because we don't build a network of information in our brain. THATS WHY SCHOOL SUCKS.

So according to their logic, we should completely disregard any math that's more than 15 years old. Guess that means all calculus, algebra, geometry and well, just about everything else in math is completely useless. And here I thought Newton's Principia Or Euclid's Elements were groundbreaking. But no, they're OLD so they're not relevant anymore. I'm sure whatever these guys come up with is better because it's NEW. Yup, just the sort of people I want to be teaching me. lol I've been getting a new one that says the same thing about American math videos. The jist of it is that I can't find Canadian math videos and the American ones are useless for Canadians, cuz I guess American math is different somehow? I dunno. It's stupid as hell. These idiots should be banned from advertising on educational videos. The very people who fall for this crap are the ones who need a real education most of all.

I think some people learn better when they're taught the easy way first. The textbook our professor uses dives into complex examples immediately after learning the chain rule, combining both chain and product/quotient rules. This is very tough if you're new to the idea of derivatives. Very thankful for this video, thank you TOCT.

Its crazy watching your videos. Currently studying for my engineering license and need to watch these videos to remember basic calc properties. I remember watching your videos 7 years ago at the junior college. Its such a trip to still watch your videos many years later. I remember struggling so bad on this stuff and after just completing reinforced concrete design. I realize that it wasn't so bad. I guess what I'm trying to say is that as the years go on, your going to realize that this stuff wasn't so bad and you'll just honestly laugh at yourself lol. This is the reason why many people don't go to college because with each new semester, comes new emotions, new struggles and most importantly a new version of you. And "new" can be terrifying. Each semester we all have ever taken continues to add more value to your life and increase your critical thinking skills. You may or may not use calculus for your career but the critical thinking skills will reveal itself when you need it the most. Don't give up on your educational journey. Your future self is waiting for you on the other side. - The engineer turned PreMed

I had learnt chain rule like several months ago and and today I had to use it to solve the physics question and I had completely forgotten then I remember, this channel must have video on this and it has as always. Thank you 😭🙏 for saving me for years
