@@michealaonYT been doing it like this since 5th grade. I’m done with school though. Math problems always have a loop hole to solving the problem and I understood that. Whenever a new math topic was introduced, I would sit there, thinking of ways to simplify it to point where it could be done in my head with ease and speed. My tip to you is school’s teachings on math is impractical for the human brain to do in their head, but practical to be done on paper. This is school’s would invoke students to do the problem on paper(take make sure their not cheating, not taking forever on the test, and easier) and allowed calculators. Sadly people rarely seem to learn anything unless it’s taught to them.

I’m 54 and I never understood numbers, let alone percentages fractions decimal points… turns out I’m dyslexic. I went undiagnosed until my senior year when a math teacher (god bless him) spotted it. This is good. I do: Step 1: Turn percent to decimal: 15%= .15 Step 2: Multiply decimal by the full number: .15x200= 30 But for this you might need a calculator.

If you didn’t have a calculator for this you can still multiply .15 by 2 and then .30 by 100. Although this might not be so easy with more complex situations.

Alternatively, you can flip it. For example, 40% of 500 = 500% of 40, so therefore if 100% of 40 = 40, then 500% of 40 is simply equal to 40 + 40 +40 +40 +40 or simply 40 x 5, which is 200.
