The reason why 0! Equals 1 is because when you do 0!= 1!/1! (One factorial over one factorial) it just cancels out to 1. It’s the same if you were to do 2!=3!/3!. When you expand the equation, You would cancel out the 3 on the bottom with the three on the top and be left with 2 times 1 which, of course, is 2!
@dimitrijep7872
@dimitrijep7872 6 жыл бұрын
@@prncess1848 u explained it right except that " 2!=3!/3! " should not have factorial in the denominator, thus it would look like " 2!=3!/3 " standard formula would be n! = (n+1)! / (n+1)

I love how he explains the difference between permutation and combination. It took a me a couple example to finally grasp the advantage of using the formula provided. Not only it made bigger equations to solve but instead of drawing them out which could take longer. The recognition of the two different problems is also an important factor because you don't want to end up using the wrong formula Jamie Toloa

i've been struggling really badly in CIE additional mathematics for the past few months, mainly because i wasn't getting the hang of a few chapters, this one included. my ex math tutor introduced this chapter to me quite a long time ago, and today is the day i REALLY understood the concept, which is astonishing. i've always hated this chapter, because it seemed so confusing and incomprehensible. i tried reading the text book, that has even worse explanations, i went to my older sister, still didn't understand; and today i finally decided to go and check on the internet. i still wasn't getting it from trying a few channels and then i bumped into this guy. and im SO thankful, cause i cant believe i understood a concept that i've been struggling to grasp for MONTHS in a matter of 17 freaking minutes. dear organic chemistry tutor, if you're reading this, i want you to know that you're a hero. you have no idea how much of an immense help you were to me today, and to millions others. not all heroes wear capes, sometimes they run a youtube channel to help others out. keep up this amazing work!!

10:51 If there's anyone wondering, I think I figured out why 0! is equal to 1 while watching the video. Basically, if n is like the menu of things you're choosing, and r is the amount of things you can choose from that menu. We can see in the question that n is 5, r is also 5, meaning you have to pick everything out of the menu and not leave anything out. Therefore, there's nothing to cancel out at the bottom to account for anything you can't pick. And having a look at the numbers that fill the spaces at the top left of the screen, I can understand it's the same as just dividing the full factorial by 1. (Please feel free to ask me about any part of my explanation if it was still confusing for you.)

I switched from incognito to regular window just to give it a thumbs up. I studied this topic around 14-15 years ago. I didn’t understand any of it other than memorizing and writing in the exam papers. Due to CWC 2023, I wanted to know how 10 teams playing each other once will have 45 matches in total. I don't want to blame my teachers. They tried their best. Either I was not paying attention or they didn't know that we didn't understand at that time. But kudos to you. Now it seems easy to understand.

Sometimes I trust you more than my teachers. You have been my teacher for four years. Chemistry was the first subject, which brought me under your teaching and then gradually I began to prefer you as my Maths’ and Physics’ tutor. 🙏🏻 One day I will invite you to one of my biggest stages of life.
