This algebra 2 and precalculus video tutorial provides an introduction basic overview / review on composite functions that contain fractions and radicals such as square root functions. It explains how to find the domain of a composition of functions and how to express it using interval notation and a number line. It also shows you how to determine if two functions are inverses of each other.

I really prefer learning math this way,at home in peace I feel like being in class,at an uncomftorable space is tiring..And the fact that your prof only explains once is pressuring..Like this I can sit and watch and replay till I understand at peace! Ive been trying to learn these composite functions and finally I get it! Thank you

Two great ways to prove that two single variable functions are inverses of each other by checking to see if their composition equals x. Would the inverse of the inverse function of a function result in the original function. Consider: The anti-derivative of the derivative of a function gives back the original function. You inspire and motivate me, through your videos, to continue studying Maths. Thanks JG.

It's insane how missing one part of something mixed with having shaky math foundation and make you sit there and try everything, but what's also insane is learning all of the mistakes you can make by trying everything possible without doing what you're actually supposed to do so you can help others later and recognize mistakes they could be making which are the same or similar to the ones you learned along the way.

For the question with x+3 in the denominator, shouldn't you use cases to see if x+3 as a whole is greater or less than 0? Because if x+3 as a whole was negative, you would have to flip the inequality sign.

Correct, which gives -3 ≤ x ≤ -(5/2), and then applying the additional restriction x ≠ -3 gives the correct domain (-3, -2.5] and this methods avoids all the clunky subbing in and checking.
