Holy moly, what a great video. I'm currently in the middle of doing this job on my 02 rendezvous, having never done anything on this scale before (the biggest job I've ever done was a thermostat or control arm replacement). This video may just save my car. Thanks for the walkthrough, it was getting pretty scary unplugging and removing things without knowing what the are ;)

Might consider taking upper engine mounts loose and using ratchet strap to rotate engine forward......you can reach around coil pack and get to egr alot easier

Would this lower intake gasket cause me to lose enough water to during 30 minute period of idling that the engine overheats and also could this cause water to get into combustion chamber?

Possibly, that or a head gasket failure. A gasket failure in either area can cause coolant to mix with oil and vice versa.

@@TheOriginalMechanic thank you for your response. I'm hoping for this to be the case v.s head gasket, but I've begun the process of taking things apart one layer at a time until i located the issue.

If you squirt a small amount of WD40 in those hose fittings, the hoses slide right off with no effort at all. Same with putting them back on. Just pry back the hose with a small screwdriver and using the long nosel, put it in the area where it's pulled back and it will seep around the inside on the fitting. Slides right off.
