I guess the hollow being defeated the second time got weak again to the point that it cannot really speak now, but rather a collection of whispers that irritates the host until it commits evil deeds. It’s just my theory given that the hollow, defeated first time, was just able to influence a handful of people, esp those who are weak willed or succumbed to their dark thoughts. So basically, when the hollow got extracted from Hope as a child, and got separated into four parts, it needed to recharge again the way it did the past centuries. When Hope reabsorbed the Hollow as a teen, she has more control now compared before. The hollow was basically reduced to a powerful influencing energy. It doesn’t need to resurface again as a living being coz basically it will just be a do over of the fourth season. The Hollow was still the antagonist of s5, but not as active as it was before.

You know what story would have been neat to explore? If the hollow truly killed Hope, she would have woken as a vampire. A vampire that can't do magic? I'm not sure. In legacies she still can. But they went through all this effort to stop her from dying but she really would have just come back as a vampire, which could have been cool. Seeing vampire Hope in legacies was neat, but her family wasn't around to teach her the ways

@@deadpooldan9862 she literally killed off three characters just so that she could create legacies. She wouldn't have been able to make legacies if Hayley, Klaus and Elijah were still alive. They all died just so that Hope would have no one. Neither Phoebe, Daniel or Joseph wanted to return for Legacies and an orphan makes a good story for a spin off.

Just because they killed 3 characters doesn’t mean it was ruined, I liked the 5th season and ending, it was bittersweet but had a happy note knowing Hope was gonna be ok and still have her family

Did u you ever notice Elijah never had a definitive accent like Klaus,Rebecca, Kol,Finn, Ester and Mikael.....He just always spoke in eloquently and pretentious way with a hint of old world British wording.....As matter a Freya and Elijah dont have those Accents......I mean the actor who played Freya tried to do the eloquent dialog thing that Elijah does but it wasn't working out.... I never understood why didn't Freya took the hollow?? I mean, Klaus is her father and Freya is her aunt, it made so much more sense if Freya took it so Klaus could stay with his daughter. It would have been much more simple and they needed four so why didn't she just took klaus's place, and any explanation they try to give is just a cover up so they could do season 5 plotline where Hayley is dead, but if Klaus would have just stayed Hayley would not have been dead and Klaus would be a present father for his child, so why.....?
