Elijah isn't just their older brother. He is also the amazing father they never had. Ever since they were kids, he was the one who is always there for them- not just to protect them and keep them safe but also to comfort them when times get tough. This is why they all look up to him, even Kol. He was the one who taught them to always put family first and to honor the Mickelson name *_- Always & Forever._*

This is very true the siblings were abused and traumatized by their selfish sorry excuse for parents in particular Klaus needed a father and in many ways Elijah filled that role he always gave him the benefit of the doubt and believed in the inherent good he has as he said once before when they were young Klaus before they became vampires was kind and gentle and he wanted to see that side again no matter what.

Elijah is like the ideal father figure to Klaus. No matter what happens, he will always seek shelter in Elijah, just like Elijah will always come back to stand by him. This is the most beautiful unspoken bond developed in the entire series. And very rarely captured on screen. Everything may change.. but they find comfort in this point of constancy in their existence .. poetic. Superb acting by Daniel G. and Joseph M.

He truly is! Their brotherly bond is one the best and strongest things about this show. That tear that trickles down Klaus' face when he closes his eyes is so powerful. You can tell it's a combination of grief and sadness and distress but also and perhaps most importantly...RELIEF and CONTENTMENT because he's finally got his brother back. His greatest ally, his best friend, his almost father-figure...his BROTHER. And to have Elijah here for him when he needs him most and giving him comfort is so moving.

Yup...in season 5 when Klaus said "you don't know the agony of being father...." And Elijah replied "I think I've an idea" ! Of course he wasn't just brother. That bond between both is the best thing of The originals.

This scene was extremely beautiful. Klaus and Elijah were in an argument. However when Klaus was faced with a real problem and didn't know what to do, Elijah was the first person he went to for help. And Elijah immediately hugged him because he loves him and he will always stand by his side, no matter what. I love the bond Elijah has with his siblings, especially Klaus, Kol and Rebekah. Elijah is the only one who has always been there for them ever since they were kids. No matter what they do, he continues to make sure that they are safe and protected. That is why he became one of the only people they look to for help and guidance when they need it.

I feel like Finn could’ve been a great older brother to the rest of them but after losing freya his older sibling at the time when dahlia took her as a child. Caused him to not really care much about the rest of his upcoming siblings therefore excluding himself away from whatever Elijah klaus kol and Rebecca did.

Watching this scene made me feel just slightly better about the ending, I still wished they wouldn’t have to die but at least they are together. Their bond is so strong and they could never live without each other no matter their disagreements and fights. Julie should at least include a scene in the afterlife, I mean Stefan got his reunion with Damon, Josh was with Aiden. I would like to see Klaus and Elijah happy in the afterlife together, meeting Hayley or something like that. I mean really, they couldn’t give us few extra minutes?
