I'd say we eat fondue a few times a month during winter time. Less, almost never during summer. It's a cold weather dish in Switzerland. Also: always turn your fork around when you're dipping the bread, fondue needs to be constantly stirred so the cheese doesn't stagnate. And I like to grind some black pepper in my plate to dip the cheesy bread in :).

We eat Fondue 2-3x a year. Mostly im Winter and Fall. And mostly when you have an invitation. I had it once in the Restaurant when we has a german visitor. I have it with bread :) when you lose the bread in de chees you have to shot a Schnaps 🍸 😂😊

I love fondue and could eat it once a week (in winter), but it really depends on occasions as it has to be a shared experience with friends or family. We usually eat only the bread and cheese, and drink white wine or tea (schnaps is always a nice option, but don't lose your bread too many times 😵💫). The potatoes and meat they served you, I'd rather have with raclette. Great vids of Switzerland !

Hello from Switzerland, fondue (as well as raclette) are actually more popular in the colder season (an absolute "must" after skiing). Sure, it works in the summer too, especially after a hike or whatever. For me personally, potatoes with fondu are a real treat. Although we Swiss usually drink white wine, a cherry afterwards or, as an alternative to alcohol, simply tea, but not actually beer or mineral water (the cherry in particular helps with digestion or at least with falling asleep 🤣).

Wow it's neat I just stumble on this video. We were there in late November. We stopped in the same area as you guys for 3 days. We got to see the greenery for the first half and then they got a snowstorm and then we go to see it all covered in snow. In November they shut down some of the cable cars to other attractions such as The First and the James Bond area. The same happened to us got to the top and and super dizzy as we live in at the Gulf in Florida. Even stayed at Grindlewald for a day before going up and when we get there it was a complete white out. Did drop my glasses on on the cog wheel going up and the slid 5 rows down. Got up and my wife took a pic of me walking at a 45* angle!

Wow, I would love to do that swing! I've done 3 helicopter tours in various spots, drove fast cars on a racetrack, sxs and 4 wheeler riding in the mountains, flew tandem on a paramotor, 30 mins flight tunnel time, 2 tandem and 8 solo jumps and lots of other fun crazy stuff in my life. Enjoy it people! Do shit that excites you.

We usually eat Fondue only during the cold months. During summer mostly only tourists eat it. Standard is just bread and cheese but potatoes have become more and more popular over time I guess. But yeah, usually it's a winter dish when you're with friends or family.

hey Ian and Ana, I love your videos!!! I'm planning a trip to Switzerland with my mum for April, and we want to do some hikes too. Bachalpsee Lake and Oeschinensee Lake look amazing, do you know if they require any special equipment and hiking boots? I see Ian wear normal running shoes (?) in this video for the hike - is there anything in particular you'd say we should take note of? Thank you so much for the help!!
@ian.and.ana.7 ай бұрын
Omg you are going to have such an amazing time 😍 So Ian actually has on Addidas Hiking shoes instead of boots so they have amazing tread on the bottom. We would definitely recommend a pair of hiking shoes or boots! Other than that, make sure to bring a bunch of layers. I’m guessing April is cold so having a backpack with layers will def help 🤗 Have the best time in Switzerland and hopefully our videos helped enough

Wow you guys are living! You're fortunate to be able to do this at a young age. Just a word of advice from a person in their mid 50's...Skip over the generic "start a family routine". Not worth the cost in money, time, lifestyle. When you ask anyone who seemed to have an interesting adventurous and stimulating life which at one point just seemed to stop, the usual answer is "then the kids came along". I'm still traveling with my wife , and enjoying life as all otherd around us have succumbed to the rat race.
@ian.and.ana.6 ай бұрын
Idk if we would let kids stop us from adventuring. Yes it may change the adventures we go on but that doesn’t mean we can’t get a babysitter for week long trips for the more crazy adventurous stuff 🤗

I advise you to visit the Arab city of love, which is famous for its love stories, such as the story of the poet Jamil and his lover, Buthaina, and the story of the poet Kathir and his lover, Azza. In these winter times, it is famous for the Winter of Tantora and is called the city of wonders due to the shapes of mountains in the shape of an elephant, a ship, a jar, a face, etc. It is called the Bride of the Mountains due to the beauty of its mountains, and it is called the country of civilization due to the succession of ancient Arab civilizations in its oasis, such as the civilization of the Kingdom of Dedan, the Kingdom of Lahyan, Thamud, and the Nabataeans, and then the ancient village that was classified as one of the most beautiful heritage cities. It contains the rectangle civilization, about which Discovery produced a documentary film, and National Geographic produced a documentary film about the civilization of the Kingdom of Daden. It is a new gem in archaeological and cultural tourism that is not known to many.
