A little hyperbole. In the real world 3 times that price you can get a Durston 2 person tent made of Dyneema.

The tent it's like a blank canvas, you can paint any color and any motif you like on it, and it's a perfect camouflage in the snowy environment. Thanx Decathlon.

Hiii, I have the 1 person tent and I'm a big fan! The vestibule in the 1 person seems a bit smaller than on this one (it's a bit of a struggle to keep my stuff dry while trying to cook stuff) so I'm considering switching it out for the 2 person. Something i wanted to share was that i was really really impressed at how easily the rain washed away all of the dirt it collected during my very dusty heatwave camping last year. I mean my tent was literally BROWN, so brown i asumed there was some brown pigment that might've actually kind of dyed it, but a lot of drizzle and one pretty pouding rainshower last weekend made it looking shiny brand new again ✨️
@theoutdoorempire3 ай бұрын
Wow, cool! Good to know.
@TheBonswah5 күн бұрын
Got the 1p version. The vestibule maybe is a bit on the small side in case of rain, but other than that I like the small weight, footprint and overall quality.

There's a tent with a similar design available in the US called the Backbone by Featherstone. It comes in both 1 and 2 person options. The lay out is not exactly the same and I believe they're a bit heavier, but I'm pretty pleased with mine. Decathlon needs to add more tent options to their website, but their gear is still good.
@theoutdoorempire6 ай бұрын
Good to know. Seems like a popular general design that several brands have used.
@whatsnottohike6 ай бұрын
I have this tent and its awesome. Although i put it in my own stuff sack as it then packs down super small its hardly noticeable. The only downside is that with it being all white, it does attract bugs in the summer but performance wise, its as good as tents 5x the price.
@theoutdoorempire6 ай бұрын
Interesting point about the bugs. I hadn't thought about that. Thanks.
@illenseil3 ай бұрын
But does it really attract bugs or can you just see them clearly now? I've never been able to catch a mosquito faster than in this tent, that's a good thing! And I guess a colored fly absorbs certain wavelenghts while this white one doesn't, because I -very unexpectedly- found it much easier to spot ticks, also good!
@whatsnottohike3 ай бұрын
@@illenseil yes I agree. Bugs are certainly easier to spot which is definitely a good thing. It probably attracts more given it's colour but with a light on, ALL tents will attract bugs so it doesn't bother me personally, it was more of an observation but it's still an awesome tent and would highly recommend it 👍

does the inner tend stand free if the outer fly isnt attached - just wondering if this work after seeing the hanging in your vid?!
@VictorSchmits6 ай бұрын
from personal experience: not really. you can jerryrig it, but it is hard to pitch it sturdy and you wont be able to use the little poles to raise the footbox
@theoutdoorempire6 ай бұрын
Like @VictorSchmits said, not really. It's not designed to do so anyway. The trekking poles attach to the top of the outer tent and the bottom of the inner and those little poles.on the end mount to the outer.

Chase, thanks for this review - a very intriguing product for sure. Too bad it's not available in the US - why not, Decathlon?? You got some 'splainin' to do. Tangentially speaking, I wonder if you'd ever be interested in taking a look at their Quechua 2-second line of tents. They seem to be affordable car camping tents great for geezers like me. Those you can get in the US, as well as their pop-up line. TIA.
@briandoolittle34226 ай бұрын
Edit: I was wrong. See comments below. My guess as to why its not available in the U.S is; it looks an awful lot like the Zpacks duplex, and seems to take a number of design features from Tarptent brand tents as well, both of whom have a tendency to apply for patents for stuff they develop. So they might not legally be allowed to sell it in the U.S due to infringement of patents.
@theoutdoorempire6 ай бұрын
Thanks for the suggestions! Indeed I'd like to take a closer look at some of their car camping tents.

I'm curious if this is the case. Though there is a ton of Decathlon gear not sold in the US yet. Even if it is a patent thing on this particular tent, I think it's mainly a market demand and operations thing for them. The US Decathlon site has a small fraction of available inventory compared to what they sell in Europe.
@chazphot6 ай бұрын
@@briandoolittle3422 It looks nothing like the Zpacks duplex... Decathlon is the largest sporting goods retailer in the world, there's almost no way this isn't being sold due to patent infringement issues, the US just isn't their primary market.
@briandoolittle34226 ай бұрын
@@chazphot I'm familiar with Decathlon. They are, as you say, a retailer. While they are huge, product development is not their primary business. Almost every product I have ever seen from their in house label 'Forclaz' is either a generic product or copied items from other companies. I was actually thinking of the Zpacks Duo offset when I made my first comment. Its the zpacks tent I (somewhat) most recently looked at, and I thought it was called the Duplex offset. The decathlon tent is double wall instead of single wall and its not made of dyneema, but its design and cut appear to be basically the same.

Both have their pros and cons, but the main difference is silnylon vs polyester, or sagging vs lot less sagging. That's why I dismissed Lanshan. And usable length is a lot better in Forclaz tent which is a big deal to me. However, I just can't stand the white color for a tent. Sorry to see you go, but thank you for the support until now. I just happened to have purchased a bunch of new gear from Decathlon so that's what I have to review at the moment. If I could do more I would. Not sponsored or an advertisement, by the way. This tent isn't even sold here in the US so I can't earn money from it, which is fine with me.
