Does anyone remember leaving Ethiopia in the 1970’s to go to school abroad, and you get on Ethiopian Airlines and Getachew Mekuria Tizita (Tezeta) on 🎷 saxophone comes on and you start to cry 😢💔 I mean, this happens after all the excitement of going to college in the USofA 🇺🇸 🥰and, all the farewell parties 🎉 of friends and relatives, school parties 🎉 Farewell parties before the 1974 Military Revolution. Perhaps, consciously for separation from family and subconsciously for the darkest period that was about to hit Ethiopia in 1974😭💔But, I must also thank God for being here today to witness 🔭🌄 the birth of a leader and his impressive team🍀🌼🌹 I left in 1973 and returned to Addis Abeba the first summer vacation 1974 ; I ended up staying for only a short time. My parents put me back on the plane and a week later the Ethiopian Bole Airport was closed to all Ethiopians 🫢it was scary! I do not return to Ethiopia until 1979! After Red Terror and White Terror was concluded, the Derg begins to calm down or perhaps it was done secretly beginning the 1980s.

I hope the youth of today will learn from the ??? deaths that took place during the Red and White Terror periods in Ethiopia: bloodshed between family members 😭 not against a foreign country.

clearly now we can see that it was a big mistake to let you guys go abroad to learn because y'all came back and destroyed the empire. It was the so called "university students". a little knowledge is dangerous, they tahught they knew better but now in 2024 still in turmoil because of the decision some had made. the westerners could not beat us, so they helped organized a group within the country to destroy the empire.

If only I can get to learn more and understand these types of peoples history from around those times. As an Ethiopian, who’s born and raised outside of the motherland mid 90s - I could only imagine and fantasize about this unique country based off what I hear and read about from my two beautiful parents and people like you who kindly share their experiences. God bless Ethiopia.

Absolutly amazing and beauty sounds, so influenced by music from the other side of the Indian Ocean. Reminds me to the kumaoni music and different sounds from the Himalaya. So so beautiful!
