The orange snake Yoda came out in July 1980 thus making the "32" back. He wasn't released with the other 10 at first to prevent a spoiler. He's listed in the 1981 catalog as coming with the second ESB wave, but technically, he came out in his own wave. The Sears exclusives also had the two Jabba Dungeons and Imperial Cruiser vehicle. Obviously the sold limbed C-3PO didn't have accessories and I count him as a separate figure from the removable limbs version as I would count the R2-D2 figures as separate figures. The Vlix figure was from Glasslite, but they likely used a Kenner sculpt.

I knew a few Joey but not many. I appreciate you taking us back in time to how things were back in the 80s. Star Wars was originally made for kids and it makes sense that Kenner wouldn’t have produced a Slave Leia back then. I was watching A New Hope with my 7 year old nephew this weekend and he wouldn’t have been interested in a figure like that at his age (maybe in a few years he will - lol).

Haha yea! I remember seeing the Teela figure in the stores and even though I didn’t want it, you could tell my mom was annoyed that they were selling those to kids. She was very conservative.

The Death Star top level replacement piece, the little lever peg on the bottom side of the gun is sometimes broken too, which causes it to not click in place. Unfortunately you have to replace the whole gun. Luke Jedi had a light and dark brown cape, and painted or molded face too😅 thanks for the info, happy collecting bro 😎🤙

I have found the marks on my childhood Tauntaun: a 'B' on the left front paw and a 'C' on the right one. I tried looking it up but have never found anything about them. I guess it is still a mystery as to which Geddes family member they refer to. I didn't know the fact about the Japanese C3PO variant. I always love learning new things about Star Wars toys!
@thepadawancollectorofficial5 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching John! I believe the markings are on the tauntaun tail
@enfieldjohn1015 ай бұрын
@@thepadawancollectorofficial Oh, on the tail? I'll take a look. I looked and there might be something on the right side of the tail up by the tailhead where it becomes part of the body. Looks like a spot where there is a gap in the fur, but I can't read what it says. Really neat that he hid things in his work! Do you suppose the marks on the front paws mean anything to him? Or were maybe instructions to the factory workers?

I’m wondering. Some figures have come out saying they are a Stan Solo issued carded figure. I don’t remember what that is. Do you?
@thepadawancollectorofficial5 ай бұрын
Stan Solo makes replica fan art action figures, that what those are. They aren’t licensed by Lucasfilm, just fan made figures for sale on the secondary market

The reason they did not do the bikini Leia is she did no shooting of guns in the scenario. So, what would a boy do with it?

sadly vintage star wars figures are dropping in value alot recently, and grading is to blame... £30 loose figure graded at a cost of £25 then for sale at £150!! surely a £30 figure in a £25 case is a £55 figure? buyers have wised up and about time. Decent loose figures are getting hard to find due to graders so the hobby is getting too costly for most to bother now. I see (as a buyer and seller of vintage figures for over 40 years) loose figure sellers asking silly money as they feel that why should they sell a figure for £30 to someone who will invest £25 and then sell for 3 times what they paid, so loose sellers are putting the prices up to what they feel they are worth based on graded figure sales values. Grading is a joke and the cash cow is grinding down slowly but surely, so for example a rebel soldier graded 85 wont be £150+ but the £45 its actually worth.

Thanks for the interesting comments on the video my friend! Yes the prices are settling down indeed on some toys.

Is it really reasonable to think yak face is more rare than blue snaggletooth?
@thepadawancollectorofficial5 ай бұрын
That’s a good point. I would include Blue snag in that.
@ToysWeRemember5 ай бұрын
@thepadawancollectorofficial not a knock on you at all, I just think the rarity of yak face is slightly overrated as a community. Just because it wasn't sold in the US.
