DONT use your favorite cast iron/carbon steel pan. That tomato will strip the seasoning very aggressively! I dont worry about the iron mixing into the pasta though. A little never hurt and most Americans (especially females) are anemic and could use the extra iron! Love the cadence and delivery. Voice is beautiful. Dish looks amazing. First, you aren't actually forced to season your cast iron pan. If you're going to cook things like this in it on a regular basis, you can just not. The pan in the video appears to just not be. Second, if you can't cook a 20 minute tomato sauce in your cast iron without stripping it of all its seasoning, you need to learn how to properly season your pan.

@@dog-jk2hn I was being cheeky! I can cook all egg types in my cast iron without them sticking, so I think that’s a good indicator of how well it’s seasoned. As far as acidic foods go, I’ve noticed a negative difference in flavor when I make them in cast iron vs stainless steel. That’s ultimately my point.

Pro tip, make this with rotini. Wayyyyy easier to stir and the sauce sticks to the pasta better. Also save some sauce to put on at the end of cooking because it gets rlly dry if you dont
