I think in the moment of treatment there is more a sense of necessity and not any thoughts of being heroic. After my treatment people told me how heroic I was, but I never really felt I was heroic. Perhaps from an outsider’s perspective cancer treatment requires a heroic response, which I suppose is fair to say.

Hearing your story makes me feel less anxious. August of this year my husband was diagnosed with primary CNS lymphoma. He was exhibiting some weird behavior before being diagnosed. Hearing about his diagnosis was not an easy thing to hear as I reacted super emotionally while he stayed calm and unaffected. I started googling his diagnosis immediately but the tears just kept pouring down my face. I honestly was a mess at the beginning as compared to currently. My husband just finished his second round of chemo and his symptoms weren’t as bad, except the WBC, RBC and platelets bouncing around. It is extremely difficult for someone going through chemo as there’s a lot of side effects. Remaining positive throughout treatment is key I would say for anyone who has a love one going through chemo. My husband positivity is so inspiring and so are those going through chemo. I will continue to pray for those who are fighting cancer as it is not an easy battle. God bless you all ❤

Thank you so much for taking the time to make this video, I am 59 year old male and I have just been diagnosed with lymphoma, I don’t know which type yet, I have them in my neck and groin have not gotten a chest x-ray yet, I’m thinking it’s non-Hodgkin’s, this was very helpful for what to expect, I went through six months Interfernon , chemo therapy injections to treat hepatitis C when I was 42, I think the depression a company with suicidal thoughts, and uncontrolled sobbing which is all part of receiving the injection, was very difficult, the migraines, and the occasional cluster headache, which was debilitating, was tough, insomnia and lack of energy were the other things to battle, Again thank you very much, it’s good to be prepared,

This is very informative. I currently have most symptoms for lymphoma. I finally found someone who will go forward looking for lymphoma instead of thyroid issues, because I have had a swollen lymph node for 4 years in my neck, FOUR YEARS! AFTER THYROID CANCER! I had thyroid cancer in 2011 so when I say any symptoms my NP Thyroid dose gets raised or lowered. It took my collar bone pain and shooting pain in my arm to get them to listen. It shouldn't have to be like this. The last part of the video is BY FAR the most important. BE YOUR OWN ADVOCATE. YOU are the patient, NOT THEM. What you are "supposed to" feel is not always what you will feel. REMEMBER -THE SQUEAKY WHEEL GETS THE GREASE!!!!

My oncologist has nurses that informed me and a family member of all the process, the things that you might feel, things that could happen during the process, like constipation...ughhh. The hair falling, weakness and also put everything for me in writing. A Medport was placed, it helps. Also I looked up about the disease. Weakness, bad moods, falling, little or no appetite. The first thing I did was put all of this strange disease in God's hands, and even though it was a terrible experience, God had control. Just a few tips: For constipation: Mineral Oil. When your hair falls off, get satin bed sheets and pillow cases , they are much more comfortable. For loss of appetite, get a nutritionist who specializes in cancer patients. Lots of ensure, shakes made of every green fruit or vegetable you can eat. And of course, Place your soul in God's hands. 😀

Cold sweats, hot shivers, no get up n go, no energy to spare or stamina Lack of sleep, itchy skin, can be overwhelming, you put on a brave face for the family Stomach bloated and flatulence, without any influence, you fart and you burp uncontrollably Out of breath and tired, in a world of your own, thinking how to keep hold of your sanity It's so surreal, these things that you feel, and friends will show their true colours The ones that you love, will be there for your good, and treat you like they are your mothers Loved ones are worried, is this the end, of the one they love so dearly The fight is on, the battle begins, the future no longer viewed clearly It's just the start, it will take time, test your strength and mental ability At times you may need, to be alone and daydream, finding solace in your own tranquility Your physical strength will pull you through, although it will be diminished Stay mentally strong, for however long, it takes until it's finished The treatment is hard, makes you feel bad, but it's eatng away at the issue Immune system suffers, take care where you go, avoid anyone with a sniffle and tissue And in the end you'll find, your own peace of mind, as your progress is shared periodically The therapy is working, destroying not shirking, eating the problem methodically

I’m so scared right now. I (14F) have had a lump in my armpit for about a 1 1/2 (April 2021) and it’s grown A LOT like it’s a full chunk of lymph nodes. I went to the pediatrician and she said it was a swollen lymph node. But now it’s grown so much since April like it feels like a cluster of lymph nodes are swollen. And it feels soft and movable. BUT NOW I HAVE SWOLLEN LYMPH NODES IN MY NECK. Some come in clusters, some are left alone, some are not moveable, some are. There’s one under my jaw the size of a pea a little bit bigger. There’s one on the side of my neck and I feel like it’s growing? Like it feels like it’s attaching to other lymph nodes. I have diarrhea and constipation sometimes but mostly normal poops. Also I’m burping a lot? Like it feels like something’s in my throat like a lump. No sore throat just feels like mucus. ALLERGIES? anywho NO night sweats, fatigue. If I do have cancer I hope it’s Hodgkin Lymphoma. Ty if you made it this far lol sorry I have health anxiety and needed to vent. Gonna force my mom to get me a CT scan and biopsy so if I do have cancer we have it at a small stage. 🥹👊

R-EPOCH sounds pretty harsh. My own regiment was Maxi-R-CHOP one day in the out-patient infusion room and three weeks later, it’s high-dose cytarabine in the hospital for two nights. I read that the dose adjusted regimens are not better than the “bolus” regime where they bring you five bags one after the other and then you can go home.

Oh yeah the part about oncologists basically just thinking about chemotherapy is so true. They don't like to answer questions. Which is a big problem. They need to have like some sorta advisor for the patients that knows the history and the drugs and can help u patiently.

@@alyshaviliamu1795 Hello. I ended up having 12 doses of proton radiation therapy then 3 separate doses of in hospital chemo. My chemo was nauseating, I lost my appetite completely. But I am great now, a year later. I’m just doing follow-up MRIs & doctor visits. Good luck to your daughter, I hope she will be better soon.

i have non hodgkin b cell lymphoma and currently im breathless. my 4th cycle of chemo was supposed to be at Jan 3 but i got pneumonia so we couldnt proceed to chemo bcos of the infection. i had to be admitted again and was hooked up with an iv and antibiotics. i also have to drink a lot of medicine like every hour my alarm would buzz off through the entire day for my medicines. im starting to get really sad day after day. i would try my best to stay positive and not overthink and trust the process but its really making me miserable. after watching your video i kinda felt motivated. i hope i can beat cancer like you did! thank you for sharing your story. youre such an inspiration. i am tired but i will push through

Your video is scaring the crap out of me. I've thought for months that what I'm going through may be lymphoma but it's been a process getting in with drs. that listen because I have slightly swollen nodes all over my right side of my neck not one or two that are huge. I have an appt with a new primary care Dr Tuesday her PA already ordered me a ton of blood work plus mono test.. Hopefully they'll have results already. I was wondering if you could tell me how swollen your node you had biopsied was? You didn't really say. You're an inspiration💮😊🏵️ thank you so much for sharing this with us!!

@@tameraleonhardt2281 I am literally in the same boat as you. It has been awful and I know it is going to just be even worse with what is to come. Had lymphoma large B cell behind my right knee ..had a golf ball sized tumor..My final sign was my leg began to swell ….It was explained to me lymphoma attacks blood vessels and arteries causing blood clots ...So I had little circulation in my leg ..I had two rounds chemo which shrank the tumor ..and many treatments for blood clots in my leg...dissolving the clots and stints in my thigh and groin ...been 2 yrs and they say so far Im cancer free ..but had to retire because of my problem with blood clots and my leg swelling …. I thank god every day I survived ..it was touch and go for awhile ...But ..Its also hard living expecting the cancer to return …..or maybe losing a leg due to lack of blood circulation ...Its scary everyday

Just to help people who may be going through this, I've had it twice, in the early stages a chest x ray and a blood test will not pick up lymphoma, so all clear on those investigations really means nothing. Only the combination of an ultrasound scan and a biopsy will determine it. I'm not trying to be harsh just keeping it real, I know what it's like to have false hope.
