This is a great game, i beat the main story, took out all ambush camps and infestations, completed all side missions, i have every skill and gun.... Yet still when I'm out in "the shit" i still feel volnurable .... That's how u know its a good game

Yeah, even with every skill, every nero injector upgrade, and hundreds of rounds of ammo with 4 saddlebags of backup and full amounts of every bomb and grenade and molotov I am still scared to go out at night or for prolonged periods of time, particularly in a place like highway 97 where I've only cleared 3 of the 13 hordes. I remember running into one in Crater Lake at night making their way from their cave on the west side to the water, and I said "fuck it, there can't be that many of them compared to the ones in the previous zones right?" Nearly used every ammo bag and every bomb and molotov and just when you think you're making a dent in their numbers, another 50 come bounding around the corner you were using a choke point. There must have been at least 3 to 400 of them at least. It is a legit scary game and difficult game(even on easy mode) even when you've got the best upgrades and gear and everything.

I recall there she mentioned a close colleague who broke into their special secret department where they developed the virus, became infected himself and went to some conference, effectively causing that which he was afraid for would happen. Sarah (Deacon's wife) felt guilty for not believing her former colleague and trying to stop him. Maybe that's why she really wanted to create an antidote? Made sense to me, contradicts what is being mentioned around 10:00 in this clip.

Plot twist: Were the rippers correct in that the freakers are ultimately the next stage of evolution for humans? Plot twist 2: It's insinuated that the virus was a weapon gone wrong. We assume it was a weapon designed to wipe out enemies, but what if its a weapon to infect your own soldiers with to turn them into some kind of super soldier?

bridges24 there are many questions also left unanswered about Carlos and the Rippers. For one Carlos tells a story about how the freaks took him in as one of their own. Why is this the case? Well we do know the Rippers ingest some form of narcotic. It could be that the narcotic provides some sort of connection here as a similar narcotic was ingested by a rider that killed some of Copeland’s people. Nero also have evidence of this drug having similar effects on encountered drifters. Given Sarah’s work on plants my theory is that a strain of plant in the region is the key to the Hooligan virus and how it’s transmitted. One other great mystery is what is “The Rising” that Carlos warns of? We know that the Rippers had fought off NERO forces. Is the Rising the return of NERO in the same way Copeland suggests? Is the Rising another evolutionary jump in the freaks?

And if the Rising does refer to NERO then perhaps it’s time to start listening to Copeland who has been right about damn near everything so far.

I really enjoyed this game. Particularly the exposition between the main character and his wife. I thought the story in it's simplicity was really quite beautiful, when you get down to it, it's really just a story about a man who can't grieve his wife death, and is almost made worse when he finds out she's alive but won't ride off into the sunset with him, instead choosing to fight the war on the freakers. The voice acting and dialogue was really well written, you can feel the frustration and grief from Deacon even when he doesn't say anything. Underrated for sure. I also like how they left those bits of audio clips around to piece together the story of the freakers and how quickly it spread and got out of control, which was exactly what made the story from Horizon: Zero Dawn so gripping and terrifying as the robots closed in on the remainders of humanity IMO.

This game was very good. I completed the main story, and help my dad when he gets stuck on parts. (We play different stories) The ending was kinda just their, and I was a little disappointed. But nothing the less, this game is by far my favorite games. It made me cry many times during cinematics, and the music and graphics are just out of this world. There is a fan theory I found that I really like. What if the Hooligan Virus was incomplete? They were trying to make super soldiers, but before the virus was finished, a flawed sample was taken. This actually explains the NERO Injectors. Yeah... Deacon had been hitting himself with completed Hooligan. As the game progresses and he gets more, he becomes hardier, able to take more hits. His stamina increases letting him run further, his melee attacks start doing more and more since he is stronger. When he Focuses, time seems to slow down for him.

At this point I’ve finished all the content in the game with the exception of collectibles as I didn’t really find them interesting in this game so for now I’m done but I’m really hoping they add a New Game+ mode or a significant expansion as I would love a reason to come back. I’d really like a New Game+ that goes hard on the survival/crafting elements and made it so ammo, suppressors and crafting supplies weren’t so easy to come by and didn’t respawn at all so that once you hit the end of the game you’re forced to scavenge new areas to find enough materials and ammo to be able to take on a horde.

My guess is one of two things, first being more likely the other being less likely 1. It’s possible the virus has a mid to low infection rate and if someone is not infected by the possibly airborne virus it could be their body has a natural immunity to the virus or that their body was able to fight off the virus before it could take any hold over them and built up an immunity to some extent at the very lest to any possible air borne virus. Or that it’s possible the virus can only infect if it’s a pure strand from the virus so bites or any other injuries caused by freakers lack the pure version of the virus being that of the airborne virus that was later carried out. 2. It’s possible with how strong and dangerous freakers get the likelihood of getting infected by one is extreamely low do to the high chance your more likely to be ripped apart and freakers lack the drive to infect and only kill and maul their victims to death. This is less likely because if DSJ could survive getting bitten scratched and so on from multiple freakers it’s unlikely that there’s not a hand full of cases where a survivor managed to get away with minor to mid injury’s unless any time the player or DSJ got attacked was none cannon but as proactive as lot of the looters and drivers could be when it came to their scavenging it would be hard to believe that no reported cases of a freakers attack victim survived. Very likely if the game has dlc or a second game they may go deeper into the lore of the virus it self. And how a majority of the population died off or turned my guess is that there are 3 outcomes to those who get exposed to the virus 1.their body can handle the changes and is susceptible to the virus. 2.their effected by the virus but the sudden changes cause them to die or eventually die. 3.they had a natural immunity to the virus or the virus had a very low infection chance and the sudden change of 25% or more of the population becoming freakers was enough to over run the majority of civilians and law enforcement/military. We already saw how freakers react to gun fire it rarely phases them imagine having 100 of them rushing a wall of 20 armed soldiers who probably have no idea what’s going on. Keep in mind this is all theory there’s no proving this out side of what Info we are given but as dangerous as freakers are I can see only 10% of a town turning could be enough to take down the 5% who would be military or law enforcement and the 10% who may have the means to protect them selves the other 75%s only choice is to run or hide one freaker alone is like fighting a person who is roided out on pcp and steroids with zero fucks to give and a seemingly infinite amount of energy sense their body’s are constantly on overdrive in most cases running may not be an option and very likely sense the virus is still in the early stage their senses are probably boosted so they could probably find you if your hiding. It’s literally 28 days later mixed with I am legend you ain’t beating that anyone who survived was by shear luck

Incredible production quality video. Very well made. Super educational too. I'm incredibly happy I stumbled upon this game. I play on the PS5 with a 4k TV. I've noticed some minor fps drops but none to deviate me out of being immersed in the game. One suggestion I would give to new comers is to start up a higher difficulty right off the bat. It's much more rewarding and makes you think twice before engaging enemies head on.

So I think you answered your own question about the lore having a flaw in regards to not knowing about the virus being spread, but you also left out some pieces that have stated it's been in at least other states. So it seems to be a West Coast thing because there was times where Deacon would talk with Iron Mike and say that certain interstate highways were blown out or blocked off due to horde migrations, noting that one must have poured in from somewhere as big as California. You also mentioned the lab intern Sarah worked with being infected and then traveling home, and infecting the reporter he met and any others that was at the convention who then returned to their home state or country. This was a great video regardless, I enjoyed it!

When you go to the clover dale labs, there is a collectible that is labeled as a “classified document” on one of the desks. In it, it talks about the syphon filter virus (bio-engineered virus that was the main premise behind the syphon filter series). In the syphon filter lore, in the first 2 games they state that the virus is able to be adapted to specific groups of people. The document in the labs state that they have a sample of the virus. So seeing as you said it was the rough strain of the virus That was exposed I would be willing to bet that the actual virus in Days Gone is in fact the original strain of the Syphon Filter virus. The original devs of SF made days gone and the secret weapon you make with the IPCA tech (IPCA was the agency the main character you played as in SF led) was the taser you use in the first syphon filter game. If you look closely, the initials of G.L. are on the taser, standing for Gabriel Logan, the main protagonist of Syphon Filter. Lastly that document states the Syphon Filter virus by name. As a HUGE Syphon Filter fan, it really made my day finding out how the devs interconnected them.

The ending to this video got me thinking of raising this particular question. Throughout my gameplay there is not a single mention of the virus' mode of transmission and why others in the game NPCs are not effected. There is not a single mention of how the virus transforms a normal human being into that of a mutated one. We have seen such transformation or mentions in other pieces of movies or tv shows or games such as this. Like that of walking dead or resident evil. I think the developers are playin with a very notorious possibility. Eagerly waiting for DAYS GONE 2

I would add that the virus was weaponised. Seeing as it was a military classified project it makes sense that they would want to use it in a short term capacity where, once deployed, rapid and effective neutralisation of the target occurs.

The survivers being immune actaully makes alot of sence. I mean Irion Mike survived and he was way older( born in 1941) and survived which most likely means he's immune to it. But, I can do you one better. What if all the survived a are immune yes but carry the disease. This would explain why NERO wears the suits because possibly they aren't immune. Their is logic to back this up. One NERO recording talks about how a system glitches and he nearly got shot because of him being 'infected'. It would also explain why Cooper didn't want another team to go help him because his suit was open meanung that either the reacher or Deacon infected him. He isn't immune so he was infected and could pass it on to others. The theroys not solid and can reply to me if there are any cracks in it.

They are called Screamers. Screamers are mutated female Swarmers. Their cries can attract Freakers from the surrounding area. If you're too close, a Screamer cry will physically hurt you.

You're right. When she and Deacon overrun her old laboratory, she explains how a fellow colleague warned Sarah that they may be using her achievements for bio-weapons. That colleague then snuck in to restricted databases and labs, found what they were doing with Sarah's science and took a vial, in a hope he could expose what they were doing. He was subsequently infected and traveled to an expo, where he infects others, who then travel home infecting even more

In one of the landing zone missions The researcher notices that there is a watch that looks like it’s brand new and wonders how was that watch been on a freak for two years then says try putting a watch on a ape for two years and see how that works therefore proving that people are being infected some how

I think that scene is really hinting that the freakers are aware of what they have become and they can treasure old keepsakes from before they got infected. That's why the watch is in great condition not because the woman only just got infected but because she valued the watch as an object of significance from before she became a freak and took care of it. It's even scarier to think that even though you become a mindless zombie you retain memories of your past and will hold on to items which remind you of your old life all while being helplessly controlled by the virus.
