Many business owners do actually do this. If you have a startup with 5 people that are developing a new product or technology and it hits big, guess what, those 5 people are usually going to get paid very well. Just look at almost any big company and see where they started and who was there from the start, most of those people are doing very well and often hold high positions in the company.

Those clips with guests who were paid hit differently when you realize they were basically employees. The issue is that it wasn't made clear these were employees. People thought these were interviews like when a head coach comes on the show to have a conversation. It's the same thing as a product reviewer being paid by a company to review a product. He may have had good intentions, but that doesn't really excuse hiding this from the viewers. Podcasts live in this world of ...sort-of journalism. Journalistic integrity should apply.

Pat’s not a journalist??? What do you even mean? I thought it was a no-brainer that a lot of the guests were paid. DB, AQ and Coach literally have an entire segment. Delaying a bill or two just to make sure they have an amazing time is just things you gotta do sometimes in my situation. I wouldn’t change it cause I know one day it’ll pay off and I’ll take and give them what I dream to. Those are usually zoom call interviews anyway so the interviewee isn't largely inconvenienced and is just on briefly for the story. Fairly compensating people for their time for contributing to these programs is long overdue! GO GET EM PAT!

Pat should look into how "cheque book journalism" began in Australia. It was basically TV programs starting to pay people for interviews. The most famous being Lindy Chamberlin who was wrongly jailed for years and was eventually paid for an interview, which large parts of the Australian media was shocked by. This practice was pioneered by Rupert Murdoch who owns the NY Post.

Absolutely top drawer, Pat. The man's main job is an athlete, not a talking head on a TV show - he's taking his personal time to come on the show, an awful lot of time, so absolutely the right thing to do is pay the man for his time. Unless you are literally a charity, it ain't volunteer work!

Major media outlets are jealous of Pat and are befuddled by his success. Turns out, being genuine and honest is admirable to the general public. Keep it up, Pat. We miss having you on the Colts, but love seeing your success!

Amazing segment Pat is way too real for this sports media mogul world lol. I remember during one of the Helwani segments years ago Pat brought this issue up saying how he offers people money to come on the show as a thankyou and Helwani basically said no never give them money to appear on the show the exposuire they get for being on is payment enough... Guess that explains why Helwani hasn't been on since 😂 Although i can think of a few times it was clear people got paid to come on the show and they did NOT vibe well at all or seem like they wanted to be here, everyone else notices that and they've not been on since which is again just great business.

I don't comment often on KZbin, but I appreciate your outlook on how you do business. What you're doing is totally logical. Why on earth should a company get 100% of the value that a player brings to them. This is why you've grown so much, Pat. The best way to grow a business is to understand how to make the people around you happy, and you clearly do it well. I still think you ask Aaron tough questions. There is a lot to challenge Aaron with vaccines, but what I like about your platform is allowing Aaron to say his piece, even though I may disagree. I personally believe it's not your job to fact-check Aaron Rodgers, that's why things like the NY Post/Times exist to challenge what he says. You're allowing him to speak his opinion, and if the NY Post/Times wants to fact-check him, then go for it. There is obviously a line of what you should platform, but even if you believe in vaccines, there are valid concerns to bring up. But really enjoy your show!
