Well, they don’t necessarily draft law, but they have the final say on them. Judicial review is a whole lot more than just interpretation of the law. If a law is judged unconstitutional, they can get rid of it. Then, once they’ve gotten rid of that law, it sets precedence for what laws can and can’t be made moving forward. So while they don’t “make” laws, they certainly have a great deal of influence over what the laws are.

If you want full time officials, here's how to do it. Find 16 corporate sponsors willing to put their brand on an officiating crew. They would be based in non NFL cities. The refs will work for the franchise, wear their brand, and be hired/fired by their own boss. The idea is to make the brands compete to have the highest graded officiating crew, therefore putting them in the marquee matchups and playoff games. The officials will have free agency and a draft and all kinds of other things to monetize. Just find the 16 brands. The Dorito's crew gets SNF this week, Coca Cola gets MNF, Amazon gets the Chiefs vs Raiders, and the KZbin crew blew a lot of calls last week so the get the Falcons vs Commanders
