Wow. After messing around trying to fix it from a software angle-reinstalling drivers, updating, removing updates, I tried a system restore point. The restore point failed-it bricked my my computer basically as the screen would go blank on boot-up. Had to eventually do a full system restore-which did make my laptop usable again. Found this video today. It completely solved my issue. Now I've lost all my files/settings with 0 chance of recovery. Wish I found this video first.

@@bigrichmod yes, if you don't remember spilling any liquid directly over the keyboard, dust is the only issue. Open up your laptop, disconnect the keyboard connector sleeve from your motherboard as shown in the video and put it back in. Should help.

My shift key wasn't functioning correctly, fully making strokes. Cleaning and reseating that ribbon cable fixed it.

Hi try to take out the key pad use a small flat head screw or something similar and take it out gently the key board and clean the inside using a toothbrush or use a can spray that could work to. I have the same problem but with different series of nitro 5 so different built and this method that he five does not work sine i dont have the orange part so yeah

@@ArthurAkiyama Thanks for the info. I did find the actual problem: there seems to be something loose. When I press down the area right above my [E] key, all my keys work. But when I release the pressure, my [W, E, Z, Tab, Win] keys are unresponsive. Not sure what to do for that...

@gamefacierglitches for me my s 2 4 and some other doesnt work and after taking out everything it seems okay althoug i didnt take out the mobo so i just clean it up roughly and fit everything back in and clean the keyboard by my self and it works try doing this first if it doesnt work than you need to take it to a professional repair man

Mine does not have the removable orange part you cleaned. The ribbon goes right in to the motherboard. Is this normal? Quite certain it’s the same model

Hi dont know if you still need help but try cleaning the inside of the keyboard button by just taking the keypad using something small and flat tilt it up and gently remove the key and using your finger or push down using the tool GENTLY

Would you please explain a bit more about it? If you mean lagging, then I would ask the couple of questions. For how long you own this machine and how dirty the cooling fan? Also, did you try to uninstall the graphic driver completely ? Take those steps and hope the issues would be resolved.
