So thankful for PCRI. We have the Lynch in our family and my son’s life was saved in the 11th hour on a clinical trial for Keytruda for colorectal cancer. With prostate cancer, the immunotherapy approach is gaining acceptance although the current community seems quite entrenched in existing interventions. Grateful you are getting the word out. Gives me hope. Love your pup and really like your new format !! ❤️

Surely you should be looking at removing a persons immune cells and repurposing them to specifically attack the cancer cells, before re-introducing them, rather than just over-stimulating the immune system as a whole? Is that not right?

That is how the immunotherapy Provenge (sipuleucel-T) works. It is FDA approved for men with at least one confirmed metastatic lesion and we have a few videos on it. There are now clinical trials attempting to see if there is a use for Keytruda (pembrolizumab) or other checkpoint inhibitors--which ramp up the entire immune system--in prostate cancer patients. It already has been confirmed to be effective in ones with an MSI mutation (which is rare, only 1-3% of cases), but they are looking to see if it would be useful in combination with other agents, Provenge for example, for patients in general.
