My gleason score 4+4, fortunately no spread outside prostate. Waiting 6 months whilst on hormone 3 monthly injections worst part, although 79 keen cyclist & very fit. July 2024 had 5 sessions heavy duty radiation on PACE trial over 10 days. Painful peeing & poor flow afterwards. Any type of erection or desire now zero, OK with that if PC gone. PSA before 6.8, no symptoms, first PSA after 0.23, oncologist pleased. Decided to end injections & try & regain some level of strength/fittness. Treatment carried out at Exeter hospital here in UK, hope this is helpful to any of you guys waiting for similar, good luck!

I'm in the UK and its virtually impossibe to get a GP appointment within a reasonable time (usually weeks). I had blood in my pee and no hope of getting an appointment. For several days I was drinking warm water (lots of it) and my pee is now normal. Not sure if I was just fortunate or will it come back again. Time will tell.

Having transrectal ultrasound biospy, but feeling apprehensive due to being a kidney transplant recipient with altered anatomy. My doctor is confident the in office prodecure will go fine and tells me that radiology can't produce good enough images to assist in the procedure and blew my query off. Just seems and mri providing productive images or not is a good first step, but who am i? Im just a esrd patient 6 1/2 years peritoneal dialysis and 5 years post organ transplant.

Thankyou Dr Wayne and PCRI. Such an informative session I had a radiacal prostetectomy in 2013 and PSA rose so was followed up with 35 sessions of radiation treatment mid 2014. My PSa has since been undetectable. I am so very lucky. However 2 years ago I started to have blood in my urine. I have had 2 rigid cystoscopies and diathermy. A couple of times with heavy bleading and clots and recently heavy bleeding clots and retention - I spent 4 days in the hospital. I am hoping that I may be a candidate for hyperbaric oxygen sessions. Has anyone here had that treatment for radiation cystitis ?? Thanks from Australia

Nearly 3 years post surgical prostatectomy, stage pT3a. no lymph or seminal vesc involment but focal EPE present. Undetectable PSA for 2 years but has gone from .04 to .1 in the last 9 months. These numbers are small but seem to be increasing rapidly and Decipher score of .97. Plan is to do salvage RT and ADT. Is anyone familiar with using a spacer in post Surg Prosatectomy to protect the rectum? My oncology radiologist said since the prostate is gone there's no place to put the spacer, are there other barrier options to protect rectum? 68 yo white male in good health.

Taking .5mg Dusty every other day. Because of its Half-Life and the fact it takes up to 6 months to get out of your system, it makes no sense to take it everyday! There are some studies that show, you only need to take it two to three times a week. With that said, my every other day dosage, I've noticed better flow. No sexual side effects. Just lower amounts of ejaculation. We'll see more in 6 months, when my blood work comes back.

Hormone therapy is just a coverup name for chemical castration! The Lupron drug which they use to castrate men was developed for sex offenders, child molesters, and violent rapists! This is not hormone therapy! This is destruction of your testacles ! Was treated last year for Intermediate PCa at age 71 with LDR Brachytherapy. My previous two docs I interviewed ASSUMED ADT would be used. I am so grateful my ONCRAD never even mentioned ADT as part of the therapy. My PSA continues to go further below zero.

Knowing the different treatment options and associated side effects and how they can be managed gives me peace of mind moving forward. Thank you!

Appt with Urologist 11-8-2024, Biopsy 11-26, results 12-9: 4+4=8 on 1 spot and two 3+4=7 and one 6. Full body bone scan and abd/pelvis Cat scans = negative. Waiting for Decipher but urologist very satisfied by results and set Eligard + radiation. According to him Decipher will tell ADT treatment length. In truth I was worried yet after biopsy results but after scans results Urologist basically said you’ll be fine don’t worry… Sure but it seems no way to avoid that darned ADT!

This is by far the most up to date, professional, ethical and honest channel about prostate cancer! You can't make a decision that works best for you if you are not thoroughly and honestly informed about the disease and your treatment options. Unfortunately, that is rarely the case because of various reasons.

Just recieved PET Scan report from Urologist and whilst most pc like 95 percent still in prostate there is a spread just starting on the edges heading for lymph node. next step is radiology to discuss treatment options like radiation and or hormone therapy. Im at that part of the journey to work outthe best treatment options that minimise side effects and working on reducing PSA readings. I have not experience any related symptoms related to my 3A stage and praying the right pathway will be walked. Stay positive and love thy neighbour. Thanks to Dr Sloth and lovely presenter

I have 2 lesions which are both Gleason 6 according to Quest Diagnostics. It was 3+4 1 year before by another lab. I now found out I have a 3rd lesion which is 4+5 . Going for a pet scan next then decide my treatment plan.I feel I want to get this biopsy checked again from decipher to make sure it is 4+5

The host asks all the right questions. She is awesome and Dr Schultz always gives a precise explanation. I get so much important information from these PCRI videos. Keep up the good work. I have been watching my 2 lesions which we’re 3+4 . After my last MRI they found a 3rd lesion which came back as a 4+5 and the other 2 lesions came back as 3+3 instead of 3+4. I’m going for a pet scan next and will decide which course of action to take. Very nervous about finding out about the 4+5 Gleason score. I’ve been doing active surveillance on the other 2 lesions . They have not changed. I’m hoping I can do some type of focal therapy .

I am 16 days post TURP op and still have catheter after two failed trials to void. Had a 112 cm prostate and PSA 17.5 which was higher than the PSA taken a month earlier at 15 Have been put on Flomax 8mg and Bethanocol 25mg 3 times per day and have another trial to void in 4 days. my KZbin channel is following this unfortunate episode and it's difficult to stay positive as I had full urinary retention which brought hospitalization and its been exactly 5 months since this began.

We live in a strange era. Large industrial corporations enter the market, offering their barely tested products through intrusive advertising just to extract money from the market. This was the case during the pandemic. It is the same with the now widespread, expensive robotics! The results of surgical treatment using a surgical robot are not significantly better than cheap, classic open surgeries, yet both doctors and patients have been forced into performing them. We don't operate better. We operate in a significantly more expensive manner. Nobody gets profits except... the company that produces those robots. There is a need for fair advice and help in that jungle. It is important that patients take enough time to make sure that their decision is correct. Prostate cancer is a chronic disease and is not going to disappear after surgery or radiation. I would start from sport, modification of a diet and ... vitamin D3/K2
