It depends on the browser you are using. I saw something recently that Google is working on a way to cripple/make non-functional existing adblockers in a future release of any Chromium based browser. I don't remember the details, but I believe it had to do with moving to a new version of some API. I also think it was intended to be released before the end of the year. I think, because it is not Chromium based, that Firefox was one browser mentioned that would not be affected.

@@wildbill4496 That's Manifest V3. And yes, Firefox is immune because it is not Chromium based. The entire point of Google's implementation of V3 is to remove adblockers like on their Android browser (and again, Firefox on android does allow addons including adblockers). I'm sure adblockers will (if they havne't already) find a way around V3, but Google's priorities should be very clear and I would not suggest a Chromium based browser to anyone.

If you're running Windows 10 or 11, you don't really need anything more than Windows Defender. Generally speaking, as long as you keep the virus definitions fully up to date, and know not to click on suspicious links or download any potentially dangerous files, you should be fine. Prior to Windows 10, it was usually necessary to install a separate anti-malware software, but Windows Defender has become functional enough that having another anti-malware running can actually just slow down your system, rather than be of any help.

@@pacicidal Windows defennder is fine if you use your brain, but most people don't. I would recommend getting DefenderUI to make windows defender not easy to bypass and actually able to catch basic ransomware, its not an AV it configures settings that already exist in defender but for some unknown reason are not accessible from its UI. In the modern day AV programs do not impact your system in any notable way unless you are running a manual scan (This channel has a vid testing the performance impact). If you wanna get a third party AV then look at the tests on this channel and decide.

Can you check also Fling trainers and Wemode ? Are they generally safe?

1. Yes 2. If you use hacks, trainers, pirated games, etc you will most likely (90%) of the times have a malware BUT its not to steal your info but to actually crack the game/hack the game you are trying to do. Its common knowledge in this scene, there are bad authors of course so you should normally go thru the most trusted sources during your search (this doesn't mean a reputable source could go rogue or bad in the future like its happened before)

The 2nd example is kind of stupid. Why, because you're not clicking on something for the wallpaper itself...just an ad for some zip utility. Why would anyone want to click on something unrelated to the wallpaper that they are going for? On the bottom you have another for that same possible zip utility. The same file size anyway. On the top you have London store ad. How about showing us the whole page and how some 'ads' might trick us to think we're download what we want. I personally don't see how clicking on a Zipmate ad is going to get the wallpaper.
