This is a great video and thank you so much for posting! I’ve been a stylist for 38 years and lost a lot of clients through Covid. I was offered a job in a senior home and I have been struggling so much and now I know why thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you

I'm so sorry about you losing clients through covid. It was definitely a rough period for us, stylists/barbers. Wishing you all the best!.

I use to be a cna and I completely understand and those people will say anything to you and you can’t take it personal or let it bring you down. You just have to try to soothe them and talk to them and try to bring them back cause they don’t know what they’re doing. They are childlike. It’s a mentally and physically demanding job but I actually enjoyed it for the period of time that I was a cna.

I work in assisted living. It's great. It is very physical. I don't sit, eat, or go to the bathroom all day. Do you use a plastic funnel. They work well but do leak a bit. Drape them heavily.

I used what's called comfort cape shampoo aid so they can still remain seated in their wheelchair & yes it does leak so I used a gazillion towels 😂

How has COVID affected styling hair in a care facility? I was a cosmetologist in the 80s and 90s. I joined the Navy and got into health care for a long time. Now I want to go back to styling hair. I've come full circle. I think my life experience would help me do well in that environment. I can do a roller set in my sleep. That was popular when I was doing cosmetology back in the 80s. I'm middle aged and get along well with older people as well as younger people. Your video has given me an idea of a career path.

I unfortunately moved on from working here so I don't know how it's like for care facility hairstylists during COVID.

Covid has changed everything so much. I went from 25 women once a week to 4, most people ate not getting the shampoo sets anymore and that's where the money was. Ice been doing this for 8 years, and I am not sure what is going to happen now.

I’m going to work at an assisted living but I make my own prices, so I do have a suite but I don’t want to charge them my prices as I know most are on a fixed income. Would you be able to tell me more less how the prices were for you for cuts and perms when you worked there so I can more less have an idea of what to charge

If you were working two days a week and let's say a 60 bed facility how much were you making. I got offered a job doing the same thing with same amount of residents so I'm wondering if it pays good for me having to travel. Of course it's part time but I'm curious.

this is part of the reason when I took up CNA class about 4 years ago and it was a two-week course it was too overwhelming for me and I decided I definitely am not interested and cleaning out someone's faces for just a mirror 11 to 13 an hour but having to hear your video I definitely once becoming a stylist I'll pick and choose who I may want to do or just don't deal with it at all you still have to earn a living and it's no sense in working a job and then not being able to earn a real comfortable living I think when you come into that environment if you're not already being paid $100 a head is just a waste of time but good luck on your experience thank you for the various videos you've done enjoy the 😎😎😎😎🤔🤔🤔🤔

I am looking into what I need to have in place, license-wise, to get set up in the senior care facility. Do you have to form a new salon/business? Is it freelance? Any thoughts?
@PeachPhillips
@PeachPhillips 2 жыл бұрын
In my experience, I was more of a freelancer. The prices were set by the facility & I was getting a check from the them if the client wanted to pay through their credit.
