A while back I was looking for a quality channel to fall asleep to. I discovered this one only to be drawn into the stories of each individual. I’ve learned so much and find myself fascinated by people I would’ve deemed boring in my younger days. Thanks again for the hard work and neutral narrative. No biases, no personal opinions. Love the voice, and the intro always gets me a little giddy.

He didn't completely destroy the KKK but the feds dismantled its largest chapters. In 1964 the KKK was large enough that it could have started a full blown second civil war. Yeah it was that powerful. But the FBI reduced it within 6 years to a small time fractured operation. There was one negative side effect. The remaining KKK members were the true die hards and surviving chapters got far more radicalised in the 70s which is one reason it got harder to penetrate them. But in 64 everyone expected all out war in the South. The KKK had enough clout to start it.

There had been similar crashes after the Civil War and all of them recovered within about a year or so WITHOUT ANY ACTION FROM THE GOVERNMENT WHATSOEVER !

If considering the scale of perishing in labour camps, fierce tortures during interrogations, and executions for trifles or nothing, Hoover looks rather inoffensive in comparison with his colleagues and contemporaries, Genrikh Himmler and Laurentiy Behriya. Thus, Hoover was buried with honours, while the ashes of two others were thrown away. Certainly, Hoover wasn't an angel at all. The matter is that a supreme police chief is a mirror of all the political situation in a given power. Sergey (61), Russia.
