Peace with you and your family. I live in Southern MD. New ro the East Coast, (5 years now) having been a West Coast girl my whole life.( I just turned 68). My mother was born to Hungarian immigrants who came to the US in the early 1900's. When getting off the ship in the NY harbor, they were sent to a small coal mining town in West Virginia called Rex Star. They raised 8 children in a very small 3 room house. My mother taught herself how to play the Ukulele when she was 4, and as she got older, she played the guitar, mouth harp, harmonica, piano, and organ. She sung like an Angel and could yodel her little heart out. She use to sing Blue Grass and how I miss her. We'd sing around camp fires, she'd sing to my sister and I, even after we grew up and started our own lives. She sing to my 2 girls and my sister's 3 boys. Listening to you and your family brings back so many memories of my mom. Thank you for all you do and for bringing your beautiful voices out to share with the world. From a long time lover of Bluegrass, Gail Scott

Konstantin Ridaya I will check that family. Thank you. You are right about younger low voices. They are rare, but that teacher 'knew' so much people like me don't take the trouble to tell him different. My story for him would not have been about myself. My older brother, small for his age as a HS Freshman, was in a classroom with my dad and a teacher to audition for Stephen Foster Vocal camp in Eastern Ky.. Those waiting in the hall wanted to see for themselves that the low voice they had heard (A flat below the C most baris. Can hit) came from that little body and not one of the grown men. My brother would not have told us about it. Dad did. By the way, that teacher was a tenor.

I discovered your family band just a few weeks ago. I have been so blessed by listening to you all make awesome music. I am a musician myself and have been playing guitar for 57 years. I've played in several bands over the years from rock & roll, to country, gospel, and bluegrass. I've been a member of a bluegrass jug band (Dean Duckson & the Turkeysnorts) for 40+ years and have had to opportunity to share music in lots of venues in several states. The "Turkeysnorts" was originally inspired from my visit to Branson in 1973 where I spent an evening listening to the "Bald Knobbers". I have been blessed by those experiences. I have to say that bluegrass/gospel is probably my favorite genre of music. I have been incredibly blessed and inspired listening to you all this past few weeks! Keep it up!!!! Wishing you God's richest blessings in all that you do! .......Kim Richardson (alias Slim Pickins)

When you find a family than can actually sing and harmonize together, it pretty much wipes the floor with anything else...
@littleshepherdfarm21283 жыл бұрын
Music was created by Jehovah God as a means to give thanks to Him but it encompasses mathematics, linguistics, and ages/timeless instruments of percussion and beat. It's the perfect/most fantastic element one can acquire next to private personal prayer. On so many occasions the ancient Israelites gave thanks to God through song and I think that those few basic reasons I just mentioned pale onto the background when you sing or hear someone who sounds so absolutely perfect that it just takes your breath away. This family's harmony with their instruments and voices does that for me. I can be in a..just not so great a mood. Then I sit down and start playing music on KZbin and it never fails...KZbin throws the Petersons in there and my whole demeanor changes to one of happiness. It's not a miracle but it's close enough for me.

Greetings from a fellow musician. There’s so much to praise about your music. I enjoyed how Julianne took the high harmony over Ellen in Carolina In The Pines. You are all so solid, both as players and singers. I can feel the joy in you when you perform together. I love it! My best to you all.

Wow!! I usually will not go Branson when my wife and the rest of the family go. Lack of interest I guess, but after discovering this talented family I told my wife I actually want to go if I can see these guys. Amazing talent,those girls sing like angels! And it's just as enjoyable watching them sing as hearing them to boot. Modest smiles and dress, not a tattoo or nose piercing in sight, Refreshing! Don't change a thing guys.

The Petersen family is so talented that they have brought blue grass music to pop status. I never really enjoyed bluegrass so much until the Petersens. Bravo and keep doing what you doing.

Greetings from Malaysia. Just tumbled on this group on You Tube. Refreshing to hear them. Never quite attracted to country and bluegrass music when studying in the states back in early 80s. The Pettersens changed me.

You could tell she was scared (I could be wrong about that), but it was so endearing.

An excellent showcase of the many talents of a great family band. It was nice to hear the men have their own moment in the spotlight. I am impressed at how well filmed this was and the quality of the audio. Brilliant! I apologize that I am not in a position to support the band through a Patreon sponsorship: I lost my business, and all income, through the Corona Virus situation and I have a father (who's 85th birthday is today) in isolation with me to care for, so I am forced to be extra careful with money at the moment. However I hope my views, comments and thumbs-up will help in some way. I am not a Bluegrass fan but I just love good music, and this is very good music indeed! Greetings and hearty applause from Worcestershire, in the UK.
