@Charles Clark and that's real. Black women hold their beauty longer than other nations. But it's also a curse to them. They think they have time to find a man because they still look good. But as soon as their beauty start dropping, then they want the man of their dreams. It's too late. That man can find better and younger. You're used up like a dish rag.

History does have a funny way of repeating itself. It’s so easy to do and accept what we know and what we’ve been taught. Same with parenting. Unless she was willing to unlearn what she was conditioned to believe and unless she openly denounced her and her mother’s behavior, and instead sought out mother figures more aligned with a vision you could see for yourself, it was most certainly best, to part ways with the young lady. Smart man

Sounds like you have your answer to what bm should be doing when you reflect on your father. Besides, bw have never been made to take accountability for their family destroying behavior, and thanks to the internet that's happening. I have an iPhone and I know keeping the light on will run your battery down a little quicker. I told a black woman while I was ordering some breakfast to go at Waffle House, I told her that she left her light on. Simple. Oh the attitude I got as if I was wrong for even saying anything to her. I open the door and wait for black and white women as they are walking in or out a store or something. I get the attitude from the black women and they don’t say thank you, they say “excuse me” with attitude. It’s a shame but it is what it is.

I agree with the college statement. For decades black women have been encouraged to get a college degree in order to get a good job while white women have been encouraged to go to college to find a husband. I think a lot of the older black women teach the younger generation of women to not "depend" on a man for finances and to have their own which some people interpret that to mean not needing a man at all. I have seen a few times where women have been loyal housewives who helped grow their husband's business into a success and 15-20 years down the road get traded in for a younger model and left with crumbs.

Brother Phil, most of these blk women are in soooo much debt listening to older Blk women giving them bad advise. I had just spoke about this, I had talked with a woman who I had estimated was in about $200,000 of debt from student loans. And she was thinking about going to law school which would have added another $100,000 on top of the $200,000 that she already owes. I think that a lot of older women are doing this on purpose to make sure that their daughters are their retirement plan for all of the many bad decisions that they have made. Many of the older women are in a great deal of debt.

I am a Police Ofc. I was working downtown near the clubs on the weekend. I saw that a young lady left her trunk ajar. I ask her while she and her female friend were walking away. Did you leave your trunk unlocked? They looked at each other and said "no." So I left them alone and they walked away. They eventually returned to the car and noticed the trunk. The driver went to the back of the car and closed it I was still in the area. I then said you're welcome, because they said nothing. Go figure.

This phrase is way out of context. Having self reliance is a skill all women need. Why? In case of the death of a spouse, incapacitated spouse, or unemployed spouse. Imagine “needing” a man and for unforeseen reasons, he’s not there. This is why a woman needs skills or education on her own. Common sense, Phil. Seriously.

Hey Phillip, I'm 69 years old man, I grew up with both my mother and father in the house, but my father was in and out of the house. He had a full-time job but, when he got paid, he would disappear for days. sometimes there was no food in the house, and at times our light and gas were cut off and this was Wisconsin. My uncles (not all) were the same way. The older men that I grew up around wanted to be pimps. There is an old song I can't remember the group or the title but there is a lyric that says "Let the women take care of you" That is where not needing a man started, it was survival. But these old eyes see a change in some of the young men today for the better. Some of the young women haven't caught up yet but they're coming.

We're never going to be able to fix this deep hatred we have for each other even when we try discourse it just gets worse at this point we might as well just agree to leave each other alone and focus on self because as the community were too far gone and to be honest topics like this aren't even relevant because that was the past and we don't even have time for fights like this we should be trying to build Financial structure forget about what was told and what happened we got to focus on where we're going but hey my family is well taken care of so I don't even care

Most of those women's attitudes about not needing a man, came from black women latching onto that feminist movement that started in the late sixties. Prior to that black women stood side by side with the black man. Now it seems like half of them want a white man.
