The only way I found to use dex with the desktop mouse is to install dex app in your desktop and connect using a wire. Same screen and same app.

No need to install optional feature , you can connect directly make sure your samsung device and laptop are connected to the same wifi , install Samsung dex on your computer and turn on the dex option on mobile

It depends on the phone, of course the connection method matters, if it's wireless it works slow, wired dex works better

@@ThePhoneFuel When you connect Dex wirelessly like in your video, you are using the laptop monitor just as a display and the CPU of the Dex is still you phone that is why you can use it as a mouse pad. This is the same as using a TV as a display. If you want to use the laptop keyboard, then you have to use the Dex app that requires a wired connection to your phone. I don't think its currently possible to use the Dex app wirelessly. I believe a person uses Dex sparingly (as I do since you will discover the limitations), so a wired connection is not that bad. Try it for a week, wired connection would not matter after that, unless you have a specific issue with a wired connection.

Unfortunately, my Samsung U22 never was able to connect wirelessly. Everything was going along swimmingly, but when I toggle the Dex feature on my phone, my phone doesn't find my laptop. It sees surprising my LG TV and my Roku in my bedroom, but not the Laptop which is in my lap! I'll keep looking for other options. I don't believe I need a Dex app on m Dell Latitude 7520 or perhaps I do? Maybe some more investigation is needed there.

Hey hi, just check if your laptop has miracast built in. Dex works wirelessly on Miracast supported devices. On laptops If you are connecting through a cable you need Dex software installed. For wireless you don’t need dex software

Thanks for the great video. I have a waterproof touchscreen monitor at the helm of my boat. It is connected to a Windows PC in the cabin. Wich works great, but, i want a navigation app wich is not offered by Windows. Now the question is: can i connect a Samsung device with DeX to my PC and operate via de touchscreen monitor using touchscreen? (I don’t mind leaving the Samsung device wired to the PC permanently).

Hi it would be difficult to confirm that as I don't have a touch screen monitor to verify that. But I believe that it should work. When we connect dex through a cable we are able to access the screen using the mouse and the keypad from the PC so even the touch input should work.

If you don't need the PC....Eliminate it all together.....Connect to the screen directly from the samsung device. Now your samsung is the computer and you can connect a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse to the phone. If your monitor is capable, then you can connect to dex wirelessly.

Hey hi, for the laptops display to be turned on it has to be booted. Display can't work alone without the system being turned. Actually Dex feature is ideal for standalone displays or monitors.

Hi the wireless dex works on Miracast which is a platform like Chromecast. It doesn't work on Bluetooth.. Most latest PCs come with mirroring feature built in.

Wrong, it isn't. The DeX for PC is a standalone software, so you can use it to transfer files. You can't do that using Link to Windows feature.
