This is making my life a misery at the moment, burning pain down my forearm when I do anything that involves flexing my elbow, even getting dressed. I’ve had it for about 2 months but the GP wasn’t interested, just sent me an exercise to try 💪🏻🔥😫

Thanks a lot, I'll try it. PS It's a detail, everyone will understan anyways, but midway between 90° and full extension (180°) would be 135°, not 45°
@claudia4829Ай бұрын
Incorrect. Full extension is 0°, unless there is hyper extension, which would then go into the negatives. Half of full extension end 90° elbow flexion, is like he said, 45°.
@davt3899Ай бұрын
@@claudia4829 What do you mean by 'full extension is 0'? Since we're measuring extension, the maximum extension should correspond to the maximum value. A value of 0 would typically represent minimal extension, such as when the arm is fully flexed, and your hand touches your shoulder.

omfg youre both right and this argument is just pointless, it varies in science whether an extended elbow counts for 0 or 180 degrees. but 45 degrees works when explaining things to someone new because most will think of it RELATIVE to an extended arm, as in the arm is BENT 45 degrees. Not that the arm starts at 180 degrees and you reduce the bending of it by subtracting etc. which one is easier for you? adding 45 to 0, or taking away 45 from 180? which one makes more sense?
@davt3899Ай бұрын
@@liveen I’ll never understand why some people feel compelled to insert themselves into a 'pointless argument'-this one with only three posts in a month-just to restate the point already made from the beginning. In keeping with the tone of this 'pointless' discussion, I’d say it’s clearer to say the arm BENDS to 45° . Clearly, we’ve both made excellent use of our time.

I hit the corner of the wardrobe with my elbow 2 weeks back and I haven't been the same since...The nerve is giving me pain and I can feel a sensation on my pinky finger and ring finger as well...

I definitely have Cubital Tunnel Syndrome. I injured my elbow by dumbbell bench pressing. I was tired and went for a higher weight, had a spotter and lost form. The 95+ dumbbells ended up falling outside, away from my inner chest. Forcing me to drop the weight a couple of times. My right arm healed fast, my left has numbness.. I will try these exercises.

Suggestion... try lowering the sling angle just a bit so your arm isn't at 90 but like 80 degrees. That little bit might help. Also, provided your doctor clears it, you may be able to remove the sling when you're sitting at home on your couch healing and simply prop your arm up in a sling position with pillows. The difference is that the angle would be even less and you would not have compression on the elbow directly this way. I did this when I had my shoulder surgery.

i would rlly like an update incase this actually works, i’m 13 and i have this condition, i didnt go to the doctor or anything cuz im too scared to tell my parents but i do have tingling in my ring and pinky finger when i bend my left arm and only when i bend it. thanks dude
@Miszka3 ай бұрын
@@bebekingg young man why would you be scared to tell your parents? Surgery is rarely a necessity. Doctor will probably tell you to wear the hand splint for night to keep it straight during sleep. You can buy it and use it without going to doctor. Dont be scared, talk to your parents immediately.

Are there any exercises that I can do besides the nerve gliding to fortify the muscles around the ulnar nerve and prevent it to force it?

Can you please explain why the head is moved to the opposite side in ulnar nerve flossing? I thought it should be towards the same side.
@ThePhysioChannel5 ай бұрын
It should move with the wrist to glide the nerve.

Can this condition be permanent? I have burning pain and 2 clawed fingers!!!! How about an injection of something? Heat or ice on the elbow? My doctor wasn't familiar with this ,thanks! I'll take any more tips about this if you have them?

Try cupping - he has good videos on that - do not use steroids, heat and ice are fine. Use arnica creams. I have the same.

I had pec tear surgery last week and now have to be in a sling for the next 5 weeks. Because my arm has been in that flexed position, I got cubital nerve syndrome. I have to be in a flexes position for the sling, but that affravates the nerve more. I'm screwed, I don't know what to do

I had the same thing but because of a broken wrist so I got given a sling, try using a medical tape to fix your arm in a position that keeps it straight but also doesn’t stretch your pec
