Sorry I do not know your name, I live in England and have just come across your videos which i have found so helpful. You have so much talent and a wonderful way of explaining how to and the best way to play a piece of music. My mom signed me up for piano lessons when I was around 8. The teacher lady tried to get me to look at tiny black dots on paper and I absolutely hated it. Either she didn't know how to explain it to a stupid 8 year old like me or I just knew that was going to be a lot of you know what and I just wanted to know how to play, not read dots on a page. So... I don't bother with sheet music. It's great for sessions so you don't have to memorize so much. I just always played by ear and later learned some theory to go along with it. If I had to learn to read and play to get out of prison... I'd be in for life! hahahha Nice vid and tip on how you are reading and playing at the same time.

Thanks so much! I know that there are teachers that just don't know how to convey information in a way that makes sense to the person trying to learn. Plus, everyone's brain functions and learns in a unique way. So, I would say, if you're able to play the way you want to, don't worry about learning to read sheet music. 😊😊

@@ThePianoKeys yep, I was 8 but pretty shy and ignorant due to my upbringing so I quit the piano and 3 years later took guitar lessons and that was something I could do. So, been playing guitar since 1974. of and on. But I dabble with singing and audio etc. I do voice acting since 2008 so that's about it. keep tickling them ivories!
