I also use fleece it's pretty easy but annoying to let it all dry (well the matts under the fleece take so long to dry) I'm out for 10h and spot-clean twice a day, my piggies got their own room, the cage is 1/3 of the room it's huge 😂 I spent at least 1h with them a day so. So I work with aninals ALL day because I work at an animal's shelter and then my piggies at home🥰

This video was very informational thank you!! I want to upgrade my guinea pig’s cage into a diy c&c cage that’s 2x4, and I want to try out fleece liners/bedding, then eventually once it’s ready look into adopting or buying a guinea pig friend for him (yes I know they are better in pairs but I want to have a c&c cage ready first before introducing a new guinea buddy). I have a question though. If I buy fleece liners on amazon that seem like they are ready to just put them in your piggies cage (if that makes any sense), would I have to go through the wicking process with those? Or is the wicking process used when you are making the fleece liners yourself? Also are there any fleece liners you recommend me to use off of amazon?

Kiln dried bedding for asthmatic horses is way more affordable than any pet store shavings (and way better quality) It has no dust, no smell, comes in huge packages for fairly cheap. I spend 14e for 550l. I have 2 cages. One with mainly bath mats (150x120cm) and bedding under kitchen area. Second one (200x110cm) is mainly shavings with bath mats being implemented slowly as they are pricy and I need a lot of them, some portion of the cage will remain bedding simply due to cleaning convenience. I love fleece items but not fleece as bedding. I actually heavily dislike cleaning fleece with a brush (I can't afford good enough small vacuum) and bath mats you just shake and they are clean. I use ones from IKEA, my pigs love them. I would go mental if I had to clean those huge cages with a brush if they were lined with fleece Imo every bedding option has its huge cons and huge pros and it depends on the owner what they see as better

@_kier_3 жыл бұрын
You get them (the real ones) straight from Uhaul. I would call the store if you have one anywhere near you first before you drive there Bc some places listed as “Uhaul” are just other companies that rent out the moving trucks so they only have the blankets to “rent”. You can order them online but I actually drive an hour and a half to pick mine up Bc i would never pay $20 to ship blankets lol. They are $7 and change each and very large. I just buy a bunch at a time since it’s a good drive away from me but I live in a small town. I looked into other options like Amazon off brand but the reviews are horrible and ppl on the Guinea pig forums said they just fall apart and aren’t absorbent 🤷🏻♀️
