Relieved to hear that you are recovering from the tragic loss of your beloved Teddie. As you said, she will be in your heart forever. Austin you are a wonderful, caring, devoted Guinea pig daddy and the future holds many new adventures for you! I luved watching Winston as a little speed demon zipping back and forth… so so cute 🥰! @@ugniux7196 yeah I have fish, a crestie, and a hamster the most recent members of the fam are actually two little bunnies. I know out of experience that bunnies are a lot of work 😂 but I've missed owning them since my last 2 childhood buns passed away and finally felt like i was ready to adopt some more.

My guinea pig Maggie has Winston’s personality! She is fearless. I leave her cage open and she just roams around the house with me. She lets me pet her. She has a lot if personality. She is not afraid to express her feelings. I just love her. She turned 4 this year. Can’t believe she’s been my little bff for 4 years.

I love watching you care for your pigs, I had to rehome my girls because I have an autoimmune disorder that makes me allergic to most, if not all, environmental allergens and timothy hay was one of the worst. Taking care of them was so hard with my health but rehoming them was so much harder, even though I know that this was the best decision for all of us Your channel has been so nice, I love feeling close to piggies without it harming my health or potentially neglecting them because I can't take care of them due to my health

My piggie passed away in April this year I miss her so much so I know how you feel ❤just know that you gave teddy the best life and she was such a happy piggie she passed away knowing she was loved and that’s the best feeling ❤❤

i’m still so very sad about the passing of your first pig. i’ve owned my pigs about 4 to 5 years now I only started with one and now I also have 18.. i’ve experienced three deaths. Well only these animals it is very sad and tears your heart out but it’s really rewarding to take care of them and make them happy while they’re still here for you and you never really know how much is happiness they give you until they’re gone. Honestly, I hope my pigs are gonna live healthy and long life and to make me happy and to make them happy.!!

We have the cutest dog gate for the mud room where the dog-flap to the yard is. Its low enough to just walk over and the cat to jump over, high enough for the dogs not to jump it, and a cute door in the actual gate for the pups to go through! 😍 Also, it’s the kind that just has rubber stoppers screwed tightly towards the door frame, so no holes/easy to bring when traveling.

I use both fleece and shavings. I created "insert trays" that are just the right size for the hay area. I put all the hay in there and then the fleece is easier to clean as 80% of the end product ends up there. The tray has a 4 inch height and I use a pillow or ramp for them to track the shavings on. I did this as I have several that just like to dig and burrow in the shavings. The part of the tray on the back wall is higher for a "splash" guard as some of my ladies are quite vigorous diggers. I also get to use the waste shavings and hay for compost and even mulch on non veggies plants. Here the water cost is the highest in the state despite being on a huge lake. It is also scheduled to increase by 45% so I have to manage my laundry excesses.

My Guinea pigs are equally as unafraid of the vacuum as yours. Like, get your furry face out of the hose before it sucks you up you fuzzy potato 🤣🤣. I always save treats until after cage cleaning so I think they associate the vacuum with snack 😂

I can't stand wood bedding for my buns or guinea pigs for that reason, too. It's great for my gerbils and hamster to mix in with hay to make great burrows, but for critters bigger than that I feel like the potential for mess is way too high.

I understand the pain of losing animals. Our rabbits had an accident litter before I started breeding. A dog came and ate all but one. She got out and mated with her brother we set out because he was rude. She had two babies and we caught them. And her 😅. And now I bred her again. She’s two at max.

Hey I have a question! (As someone who’s interested getting a piggie) I understand you need soft bedding/blankets to keep the piggies warm and not cold from their pee. But how come you didn’t get extra clean blankets to replace the dirty ones? And wouldn’t the bedding smell from the pee? 😅

Yea it is very very hard to lose one of our piggies. And it affects me that way. I have not filmed anything since losing my Anaiya. It just takes the air right out and I need to heal. So sorry for your loss. It had been 4 months since my last video. Soon. I keep telling myself.

Hey Austin, you might not need it cause your dog is small but the baby gate gets screwed into the door frame with those gray cap things. The caps get screwed in and then you put the gate into the caps.

Hey this may be a random question but what vacuum do you use... I have a henry and he's just given up from me cleaning my piggies area, just looking for a decent one that can handle sucking up hay and wood shavings LOL!! Winston seems like my girls, as soon as I put the vacuum on or lift the girds they think its floor like and are like zoooooooom and try to jump out (sometimes they are too fast and sneaky for me and its pigs 1 kara NIL lol. My girls also popcorn like mad when I've cleaned their cages, like Billy

I just bought the craftsman 2.5 gal shop vac to help with my spot cleans since I can’t reach all spots in my cage. I am scared it will be too loud for my guinea pigs and could cause them health issues. How did Austin acclimate his piggies to the noise and does Anyone know the decibel rating for his shopvac? Mine is listed at 75db which when I turned it on sounded way too loud for my guinea pigs’ ears. I really need a vacuum that can handle a bunch of hay and can be picked up and has a long hose but a shopvac sounds to me like it isn’t suitable to use near a guinea pig.

Yes, dogs can give piggies Bordetella BUT dogs get vaccinated against it when they see the vet. So, it should be fine for your dog to socialize with the piggies.
