Love love love these!!! My mother always had these for my brothers and me for Easter every year. Such special memories. I'm going to make her one now that will last forever. One thought you might consider is to brush Mod Podge over the whole egg once it's painted, before you do any decorating, and sprinkle clear glitter on the entire egg. Our eggs were made of sugar, of course, so they had a pretty sparkle to them. Thank you for such a sweet momento!

I have made these eggs for over forty years, I make them with sugar and royal icing. I have pictures inside of my sons and little Easter eggs. I still put them out every Easter, they look just like they did forty years ago. I find it much easier to decorate the egg inside before I put the two half’s together. It was fun to watch them made of paper clay. After all these years they still seem a little magic. They are so much fun to make. Thank you for sharing.

You can make them, also, by blowing up a balloon and gluing strips of paper around it like with paper mache and then cutting the hole of of it, then by using what ur using to decorate it. U can add color to the egg by hand painting it first then adding the extra stuff to it. I did mine using laces and ribbons a few years ago. Came out really nice. Sorry I don't share vids on KZbin, just watch, but it's all fun to make. Happy creating!!

I have made scenic eggs for 45 years. I have a tip. I find it much easier to put your scene together before you put the half’s together, don’t forget to make sure everything is glued down well. I also used to put my boys school pictures inside. Remember to make sure to to leave the edge where you glue the eggs together clear of decorations. I hope this helps. Have fun.

Suggestions. Move your already made items away so that we can see how you make the eggs. Line up the items that are needed and go through them one by one. You say icing what how do you make the icing what is the icing made of? Jumping forward and backward and forward and backwards not a good idea. Each step should go 1234 till completed. Your craft is lovely.
