We do need more of this expose but would like to offer a clarification to think about at least. I am certainly NOT a lefty or eco-warrior. Quite the opposite. 1. Man made climate change is real and a consequence of our development over the last 150 years as a species. We chewed through that yummy fossil energy (quite correctly) and excelled because of it. We got healthier, wealthier, smarter (maybe not wiser 🙂) and older. The consequence of that progression is fact based accelerated human warming of the climate. It IS baked in and happening. Denying this is kind of a bit silly and out there with flat Earthers (apologies flat Earthers). 2. It's the REACTION to this fact based warming that the left activists have grabbed with both hands and run with. Crying that the world is ending and we better all go back to living in caves (without a fire of course) and freeze and starve to death, till humanity dies down to a few million scattered across the globe, seems to be their answer. Halt all cheap, reliable energy production and consumption and to heck with the consequences. Leave the ultra expensive wind and solar generated energy for the rich and powerful. To heck with us peasants. Let them eat cake as they say. - This is the problem. I feel for the peoples affected by this man-made warming, but killing off humans by restricting access to cheap, reliable energy is not my solution, nor should it be anyone's solution. Politicians should STAY AWAY from this and let the appropriately qualified humans solve the problem. - Use science and technology to solve these problems, not shortsighted ill-advised mandates through policy. - Spend tax dollars WISELY mitigating the rising sea levels and effects of the warming we (after all) caused. Just like lead in petrol and paint and CFCs in fridges - they proved to be dumb ideas and were fixed. - Humans need to start thinking very smartly about where our limited resources (money) can go to help as many people as possible. This is a huge task and immensely complicated but needs to happen. Humans are currently squandering trillions that we don't have in the wrong areas. THIS is the legacy our children will be paying for for generations. - Politicians and environmentalists are dangerous in their incorrect and reverse thinking. They are WRONG meddling in markets and mandates that they have no business messing with. The 2024 USA election result just proved that, in a strong democracy, losing sight of the real end-goal is carrier limiting. Rant over... I need a life.
