Something I never realized before playing this on rallythetroops was that as the Government you can, in the same train action, replace troops with a base in the same Train action that placed them there. I always thought you had to do that in two different turns with the Train operation.

This is great, more of this is appreciated. Great to have more about strategy!

Awesome idea. I might suggest using Vassal rather than the physical board and player aids - it'd be super easy to zoom sections of the board, flip to the player aid and make it easy for you to zoom in on the section of the you are reading/showing/talking about. Definitely keep going with the series

When one plays a game enough times (thanks Rally the Troops!), one gets a good feel for strategies to pursue - and can share same. Thanks!!!

Like you, as Government, I Train early on and get most of my cities up to at least 3 cubes. It might be expensive to do that early in the game, but it's necessary! I might leave 1 city without 3 cubes to save a little bit of money, one of the 1-pop cities; they're sacrificed to the cause. I also grab the Capabilities that make Sweep and Assault cost only 1 resource, unless we're in the last third or so of the game. Usually as a faction, I ignore Capabilities past the halfway point (unless it's too juicy), but those cost-savings can make or break the game for the Government.

A Euro game with some historical pictures and one liners underneath with the main goal to score 60 VP’s. That was never the reason why I started playing historical simulations. I could care less about “winning”, by playing wargames I was always interested in the historical situation and why things happened or could have happened…

This was a great watch! Are you guys considering other COIN games as well?

I have played two COIN games. I played both Gandhi and People Power solo, and I thought that the insurgent factions have every reason to cooperate against the government. It's almost like black jack. Players need to work together to beat the dealer. So, the government is an awkward position of having more resources with the trade off that the other factions (if they are rational) will conspire against it.

I like these earlier ones, because it’s less skewed, AUC should be helping the Government in at least *some* of their endeavours.

4:55 you say a base is needed to do civic action. Is this correct? Thought you just need control and troops and police.
@ThePlayersAid Жыл бұрын
That’s correct, but unless you have the capability you need a base to train the police into that department.

Thanks for quick reply. Makes sense. If you redeploy police during propaganda then the base isn’t needed I guess. Great series thanks
